This urn served the purpose we needed and at a much better price than what the funeral home wanted for an urn. We intended to bury my father’s ashes so while we wanted something attractive enough to display during the calling hours and memorial, we weren’t necessarily looking for something decorative. This urn turned out to be something nice enough that we could easily have chosen to display it on a mantle at home if we wanted. I liked the variety of color choices and we were able to pick these colors which reflected his alma mater. The construction is solid and while we didn’t have to transport the urn to the cemetery I felt like we could have with confidence there would not have been any unfortunate spills. I will certainly consider this make again when it is my mother’s time and she felt the same way when she saw it. I also bought the mini urns so that my mom and siblings could have ashes to keep. I bought this urn after buying similar looking keepsake ones from a funeral home. This urn was about $300 less for a similar one there with the same quality and great craftsmanship. I purchased this urn, because my beloved Father was approaching the last portion of his life & my intuition told me it may be soon that my Father would pass away to Heaven. I searched on Amazon who literally has anything & everything one could potentially wish to purchase. I am also what one might label an expert shopper; however I had no clue that I could purchase an urn on Amazon. I searched funeral homes,crematoriums, and the like; yet all I found were extremely expensive urns. One night, not long ago, I thought to myself . . . “I can almost always find everything I need on Amazon, so why not check Amazon for an urn”? My Father had now had to have his leg amputated, with a lengthly stay at the hospital afterwards, and because I witnessed him becoming more & more weak over time I felt it would be wise to locate & purchase the urn I would like in order to prepare & pre plan for his celebration of life/funeral ahead of time, because I have always been extremely close to my Father & I knew I’d essentially fall apart once he passed away, so it would be wise to plan some things ahead of time. I searched & found many beautiful urns on Amazon, with prices that were 200-300% lower priced than all of the businesses above I’d previously searched. I found this particular urn & it looked perfect & beautiful, so I ordered it. It’s black with a golden brass design on it, it looked beautiful & masculine, & seemed perfect in the picture & in the description advertised on Amazon. This urn arrived on time, & when I took it out of the box it was actually more beautiful than the photos description here on Amazon. It comes packaged carefully & properly so no damage can possibly take place during the shipping process. It came with a black velvet bag which you place the urn into until you’re ready to have the funeral service. I kept the urn in the carefully packaged box after I initially looked at it, checked it for any potential shipping damage, (of which there was none), & I placed the urn back in the box. My beloved Father passed away on 6/23/22, it breaks my heart to say. I had to make arrangements immediately, so I used Crescent Tide Crematorium service which was much less expensive than other Cremation Services I found. When they contacted me after their services were completed I bought this urn to their business & they respectfully with sincere care took care of everything & returned the urn to me moments later as I waited in their lobby. Loosing someone so very dear to me, as my Father was, is an extremely difficult challenge to say the least. Because of this I was so distraught I could barely think straight, so it was very helpful to shop for, & order this urn well ahead of time. This urn is very well crafted, the price is quite affordable for most, (especially compared to funeral homes, etc. & more importantly many people are struggling financially because of the negative effects of Covid). This urn also comes packaged appropriately & it looked sincerely beautiful at the funeral service for my Father. This is the most painful/hurtful review I’ve ever done in my life, yet I did this because it may prove very helpful for anyone else out there who is seeking an urn, a beautiful container to have your loved ones ashes placed in,(whether it’s for a funeral service or to keep in your possession), in a beautiful & respectful way. Such a beautiful urn for a great price. I’m so happy to lay my grandma in peace in her favorite color. It is quite heavy even without the ashes but none the less the details are even prettier in person.
