This item was a little pricey but splurged based on the design. I followed the directions to a T and was unable to assemble it properly. Even after taking it apart and trying it again several times. The top box will not properly slide in the metal pieces.

    • Shipped with fiber glass fibers!
Not sure about build quality yet, there was a section of metal that seems to be broken. The package arrived quick which was nice and was packaged in styrofoam. However upon opening the boxes we uncovered fiberglass fibers EVERYWHERE. Made for one hell of a mess in the living room and itchy hands. Ended up moving everything to the garage. Wouldn't buy again for this reason alone. ... show more

We followed the directions exactly as described and still had several issues with assembly. 1) The wooden boxes will not fit between the black metal frame whatsoever. The sizing is completely off and indicative of a product with awful quality control, especially for something they're selling for nearly $400. 2) There are missing holes in the plywood. Not only won't pieces fit as they should, the seller hasn't even drilled the holes in necessary to complete the build. We had to drive out and buy a drill and bits just to try to assemble the thing, only to find out the larger parts aren't sized correctly to fit in one another. 3) Which brings us to the fact that it's incredibly unstable. I wouldn't trust this in a house with small children or animals. A light push and you could tell it would wobble and topple over. This is even without finishing the build. Now, there's the issue with the seller. They are uncooperative and have yet to refund me for the purchase for several weeks now, even after I had to ship the item back to them (have fun trying to build, then disassembling, and then paying for return shipping). They've had their product for weeks now and still have not refunded the purchase, nor have they reimbursed the shipping costs as they should. Don't buy this product and don't buy from this seller. Another cheap wholesaler selling subpar products with inflated, paid for reviews. ... show more

There is a design flaw. Or at the very least, very poor instructions. It indicates screwing the back grate to the shelving and then sliding it through the metal structure. It is physically impossible to slide it through this way. My husband and I had to place the metal grate unscrewed to slide it through. After it was in place, then it could be screwed on. If the metal bars were a few centimeters wider, or if the directions had instructed to screw in the metal grate after being slid through, this problem could have been avoided. It was a very frustrating time figuring out a way to make it work. We almost gave up and considered sending it back. I am very pleased with the end result because it was exactly what I needed. I do wish the metal was a little thicker and heavier for peace of mind, holding all the weight of books. ... show more

This looks great, but wow was it hard to assemble- when you put the wood shelves together they are so hard to insert in the metal frame- we ended up having to take fasteners back out to make it fit
