The bookcase is just okay. I didn’t realize that it was structured in two component’s when I purchased it. The two parts rest on tiny wooden pegs. Supposedly the backing is what secures it, but not with some improvising. The pins it comes with to secure the back board to the frame aren’t sturdy enough, so I ended up having to use a staple gun instead. I am really pleased with these! They are sturdy and just what I wanted. I got two of them. The first set was a little complicated to assemble but by the time I knew what I was doing, the second was quick and easy. They include what you need including a small hammer and screwdriver! They also include plenty of spare hardware pieces which is such a great idea! My suggestion: assemble each subsection of shelves first THEN put the little locking bolts in place and tighten them all at once. Good buy. Surprisingly solid. ... show more

Tis bookshelf is 72" tall. The sides are not one piece. You put it together in 2 halves then connect by dowel rods. The top half of mine tilts to one side slightly. Nothing we did would get it to sit straight. Also, directions are picture only and we followed them exactly (I'm very meticulous about laying out every piece exactly as shown in the diagram) but when we sat the finished shelf up, the bottom board had the camlocks showing on the outside. The board should have been reversed. Haven't decided yet if I'm going to live with the bookcase as is or disassemble. I expected better for the price. ... show more

Product was as described. Fairly easy to assemble. Some of the tacks are not great quality and bend and become unusable. But there is extra sent so there was enough to get the job done. The boards of the bookcase are sturdy and more heavy duty than I expected. I would definitely recommend this bookcase and may buy a few more in the future. ... show more

I am pretty good at assembling things like this, but this did take me quite awhile. Though you can assemble each part 2-ways…if you do the next piece won’t fit. So you have to study the diagram very carefully to make sure you do it correctly. Even so I had to remove a few pieces and put back on the reverse way. It really wasn’t all that difficult but there are a million screws and you definitely will want a battery operated screw driver. I started off doing it by hand and quickly discovered the error of my ways. I have mine set up half way down the basement stairs (they turn half way) and am very happy with it. ... show more

I have tons of books, and is such a great upgrade from my floating shelves. However, the tools that came with it were not of good use. The hammer separated from the handle as soon as I opened the package. I had to use my own tools to put it together.
