In my opinion this is much better than the battery powered Traxxas electric starter. Has held up well after years of use.

  • Convenient replacement starter
I could not be more pleased with this starter. I decided to take my old TMaxx 2.5 out of storage so I could have some fun with it on vacation, while the electric starter that it had was very convenient I was going to need a new battery and appropriate charger for it, not a terrible expense but it seemed like there should be a better option. I decided to look for an alternative and ran across this, the price was right so I placed the order along with a glow plug igniter. The pull start installed very quickly and exactly as you would expect, I pulled the old electric starter off and bolted this on in it's place, my car started up on the third pull and I didn't need to worry about keeping track of the starter battery. If I have one complaint it would be that I am not sure about the durability of the plastic, while it does seem strong for the size I am a big guy who tends to break small things. Outside of making it out of metal I don't think anything could be done to address this and even if I do end up breaking something I would buy a new one without a second thought. ... show more

  • Works Perfectly!
I received the pull start (recoil starter) and put it in my Revo 3.3. Unfortunatly, it does require you to remove some of the suspension components in order to screw in all 4 connecting bolts. However, it did fit in perfectly and once I started using it, I like it far more than the EZ start included with the truck originally. Never had a single problem. I simply richen the LSN a little, and the engine starts with about 15 pulls, then I lean the LSN back out. Once the engine is warmed up, it starts with only 1-2 pulls. (With no LSN adjustments.) I am very pleased with the decision I made to buy a pull start. Its much lighter and easier than "EZ start". ... show more
