From the Manufacturer Celebrating 30 years, the legendary Voltron returns! Standing at 11 Inch tall (nearly 13 Inch with its display base), the 30th Anniversary edition will feature LED light-up eyes (powered by replaceable batteries) and sturdy die-cast and ABS construction and will include a very special signature Voltron badge. This badge, when properly transformed, will become a key that can be used to activate light and sound features on the display base, including the legendary "lion's roar." The 30th separates into the individual lions, will also come with the lion's-mouth blade accessory and will come packaged in a classic retro-styled anniversary box.

The closest most of us will ever get to owning one of those classic Matchbox or Popy diecast Voltrons. Toy aim did a superb job. The weight is solid. You can feel every ounce of metal. It is a stunning display piece. And it has much of what the classic Matchbox version lacked. Weapons. At least Voltrons melee weapons. Still no sign of his missiles sadly. The resulting figure is fairly posable, balances better than I expected (much better than the Mattel giant collector subscription one.) and has the really nice electronic base. The lions legs are all heavily chromed plastic which can wear and easily break. So this is a display piece and adult type toy for occasionally swooshing. Not so much a full blown plaything. This is for your inner 9 year old. Your actual real life 9 year old can wait till he is 40 to get his own. It's not quite to the caliber of Bandai's long running Soul of Chogokin series. But it's pretty close. Here's hoping Toynami blesses us with a matching scale recreation of Vehicle Voltron / Dairugger XV soon.

The build quality is ok. The lions' bodies are die cast, but the legs are very light weight plastic. I fear for their longevity. When formed in Voltron, the red lion keeps falling out of the socket. Doesn't seem to be a good item for kids to play with.

This guy brought back so many amazing childhood memories. He is just like the Go Lion Voltron I bought in the mid-80s after saving my allowance for almost four months. Great replica of the original. The lions are die cast (body) and have great articulation. The paint job on this guy is great. I like the stand that it comes with as well as all the additional weapons it includes. I am so happy I got him, and will proudly display him in my guest room.

I was excited to get this item but after trying to assemble it I had two big issues. 1) The head for Voltron would not stay in the down position for the eyes to light up. 2) The red lion broke off at the plastic connector when I tried to re-position the arm. 3) The audio sounds horrible, the roar sounds like a toilet flushing. You can tell that there was great attention to detail for this item but they should have used metal for the lion connection pieces and the plastic legs are too loose and wobble around quite a bit. For the money, this is not a great value and I found that the Playtime 5 lion Voltrol 84 set is much much better even though it's made of plastic. It's 16" tall and plays 40 different sounds and plays accurate audio clips from the TV show. I am very happy with this purchase I made on eBay for $140 for the set of five lions unopened.

Excellent piece. I had the Masterpiece edition and in terms of quality they seem to be the same. This is a good stand-in for your Golion shaped hole in your SOC line-up. Unfortunately it does not compare to Bandai's legendary quality. The fit and finish, while good, just don't compare. The engineering accomplishes what this piece sets out to do and that's to make a great desk/display cabinet queen. I would not "play" with this piece at all, it just doesn't feel it will stand up to the repeated transformation. The price on this piece really should be around $150. In my opinion, this piece really shines next to the Miracle Productions Vehicle Voltron. They are of similar build quality, fit, and finish. Since they are both 'Voltron' and not 'Dairugger'/'Golion' it gives a some solace that they can stand apart form the SOC line and gives hope that someday Bandai will someday acquire the licenses. My example has excellent paint apps, gorgeous chrome, and good assembly. it unfortunately has loose legs (on the leg lions) and super tight shoulder joints. Mine will be on display so I removed the batteries. I could not get the black lion head to stay in position with the plastic tab inserted as the instructions recommend. As with all Toynami masterpiece items the quality seems to be hit or miss. (like the Robotech Valkyries). You mileage nay vary. Oh, and 1 day shipping rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 30th anniversary Voltron is amazing. great articulation and his body is proportionally well designed. Plus the base and all the weapons it comes with are great feature. Compared to the 20th anniversary this one has fixed a lot of the joint issues. This is really not a toy but more of a collector item. I have my posed up on my work desk. Makes a good convo piece. If you had the original one in the 80's you will very much appreciate this one.

awesome product perfect sorry to hear somehad factory defects or someone else opened and used if you want one buy one just dont open someones $200.00 collection piece and then box up and sell as new thats terrible mine is almost perfect 2 touch up on paint from factory but still a great build great chrome & diecast true voltron to own if you want old school thanks for a great product

I do not like the connectors on the red lion and green lion. They are made of plastic and very easy to break and thus you will not be able to form Voltron. The interlock on the red lion already broke on my son's Voltron and now he can't form Voltron, so we are very disappointed.
