Bought this for my great niece, who was turning one soon. Her name is Violet, so I had to be the cheesy old auntie & get a violet printed dress for her. LOL I was nervous buying kids' clothing online, as I prefer to touch & feel the fabric, as I have a sewing biz on the side. The 5T Poppy print dress fits exactly as needed. The colors are vivid and bright and there is a good weight (feel) to the dress. The bolero jacket is beautiful, though the sleeves are excessively long but it's easy to fix by cuffing each sleeve. The problem is a major one and that's the thick, uncomfortable seam connecting bodice to the skirt. It's too thick and scratchy. And rather than face down it faces up. The first thing my 4-year-old Granddaughter said, as she tugged and tried to pull the bodice from against her body, "I don't like how this feels." The look on her face spoke volumes and I'm disappointed with it. I'm washing it in cold water per instructions and I'm hoping it will soften the feel of the seam. What makes it worse is the fact that it was sewn so that the seam will always face up rather than down. Seams should always be sewn so that it follows the body while being worn and not against the body, which is what makes it feel even more bulky and worse against the skin. It's also too thick. I doubt the initial washing is going to help but I'm going to see if I can baste a backing of some sort to see if it helps with the feel. I'd say buy at your own risk, and beware if you have a child who is particular about the way clothing feels. Not all do, but my Granddaughter certainly does...and that is not unreasonable. I mean, even I don't want thick, scratchy seams bothering me; would you? No. It's a sweet, colorful dress though. ... show more
