My wife really likes how well this dress fits on her body. She has a hard time finding dresses she likes and this short dress offers a way to stay cool while not showing off too much with the longer mesh covering. It can get a little warm in direct sunlight since it is all black but otherwise it is great with staying cool. The dress is well made and the material feels great. My wife frequently shops for Torrid product and this one didn't disappoint! What I liked about it: Well made. Comfy and cool material. You really have to dig into the product details to see that the model wearing this dress is nearly 6 feet tall. If you are short it will not look like the photo. I’m short at around 5’2” and this hits the floor in anything other than heels. It doesn’t look as good with it being that long and the net fabric will not hold up to repeated dragging across the ground. With it being so long it also kind of loses the mini dress aspect as well. I think the slip dress underneath hits at almost the knee, sending it squarely into frump territory. The dress is comfortable and it’s very generously sized. This fits much more like a relaxed fit 16 than a 14/16 that the size 1 corresponds to. It’s also with noting that this style is on clearance and is final sale from the manufacturer so I’m not sure this is a great value. The netting is nice quality and very soft but the inside slip dress is cheap Halloween costume fabric and I don’t think the overall quality is something that I would expect for a dress in this range. ... show more

I’m totally in love with this dress. Not only is it a flattering cut, but it’s super comfortable. I live in a warm climate so there’s never a time of year where it’s cool. Having this sheer short sleeves gives me a little bit more coverage without having to pay for the price of being overheated. It’s a very flattering cut very comfortable material. The underlayment slip is connected to the dress so it’s not one of those ones that it’s very complicated to get into or you have to put it together in two pieces. It’s all in one. You can dress it down with sandals as well. My only concern is the sheer part seems very delicate, so it may get snagged if you’re wearing a handbag with a chain or if someone accidentally stepped in your dress so just be very careful with the overlay. In terms of fit, the sleeves are the appropriate and a very flattering length. The dress overall is the right length on me, but might be too short for others or too long for others since you can’t adjust the straps at all. But for me, it fits like a glove and I’m very excited to wear it out to my next event! ... show more
