  • Minimalist, zero drop, true to size, lightweight, can be used for gymwork, running, walking
Size: 11.5 Color: Grey/White
I consider this shoe as a transition one to barefoot shoe, without any cushion. After reading a ton of researches, I decided to have this intermediate shoe before going with something without cushion at all. And it works so far. It is very comfortable shoe - I enjoyed walking around in it. And as to running - my previous running shoe had 24 mm stack, this has 14, this is not big of a difference, but I still feel that my gait changed a bit with it - cadence went up, and on the first runs I feel some muscles in my forefeet working differently. They are moderately snappy on wet surface, outsole looks solid, especially when you compare it with outsoles of other zero-drop brand starting with A - my last shoes from them started to show signs of wear only after 50k on asphalt. They fits well, toebox is really roomy, and heel and midfoot are secured. Great value for money, especially if you will be able to catch it with discount. ... show more

  • Great everyday shoe.
Size: 12 Color: Black/Charcoal
I really love these shoes. I do wish the inserts didn't have arch support, but once I replaced them, I rarely wear anything else. Very light, easy to get on and off. Just enough cushion to help me transition to barefoot. I would purchase these again.

  • Awesome running wide toe shoe
Size: 8.5 Color: Black/Charcoal
Comfortable enough to run on concrete, very wide toe box with a narrow heel that really locks into place on your foot. Absurdly lightweight, it's held up so far despite the light build.

  • Great foot shape, too much arch support.
Size: 11 Color: Black/Charcoal
I like the look, toe box is comfy, 0 drop is great, too much arch. I prefer shoes with no arch support. These feel like there’s a lump under my foot and is aggravating, though I can ignore it enough to wear for the day. These feel quality seems OK, but not great. The heel cup is very shallow on these and I’d prefer if it were slightly deeper for a more secure heel fit. I live the light weight and the toe box. They are breathable and comfortable, but could go so much better with minor changes. ... show more

  • Great for driving
Size: 12.5 Color: Black/Charcoal
These fit well and are very comfortable, but they do not last long

  • A great pair
Size: 14 Color: Black/Charcoal
These are the shoes for me. My previous brand, a well known “zero drop wide toe-box” brand started adding inches and inches of cushion to keep with the trend. I prefer minimal cushion, just a comfortable shoe with minimal padding/support and a wide toe box. These are it

  • Good walking shoes for travel
Size: 14 Color: Black/Charcoal
These are great minimal running shoes. I personally use them for walking and travel, as they pack really well. The heel is easy to collapse, making them pack flatter in a bag. Yet they are comfortable if you don’t need too much stack height (cushion) below your feet. This is one reason I don’t prefer them for running. I’m 6’2” and almost 200 lbs and appreciate more cushion for running. These follow the regular Topo design of low drop and roomy toe box. But I do wish Topo Athletic made shoes in a “wide” as well, because I need to size up to get enough width across the ball of my foot. I happen to have a wide, low volume foot with a moderately high arch, so finding good running shoes for me, or shoes in general, can be a challenge. Overall, this model is a special use case for me—great walking shoes for travel or anytime I need to pack them inside something. Would buy again. ... show more

  • The Worst Running Shoe I've Stuck With
Size: 10 Color: Black/Charcoal
Topo Athletic ST-5s are marketed as lightweight road runners, but after eight months of regular use and hundreds of miles, I can’t recommend them for anyone who actually runs. When I first began using these shoes, I only had minor popping in my left ankle when I ran. Over the next couple of months, though, that minor ankle discomfort steadily worsened and then started showing up on the other side. By month six, every run left me with sore feet; by month eight, I was dealing with pain creeping all the way up to my knees, making it difficult to walk when I wake up in the morning. Overall, I can't in good faith recommend these to anyone. I'm only in my 30s and these shoes cause way more harm than good. I'm switching to a more supportive shoe before these things cripple me. ... show more
