The product is well built and easily operated. It just wasn’t as powerful as I hoped it would be.

  • R/C is an expensive hobby.
Style: RC Excavator
The Controller is very cheap and cheap feeling. one of the control sticks always gets stuck forward now. The Toy looks great but I don't like the rainbow lights. The motors are noisy and this thing really doesn't have much power to dig anthing. The metal bucket seemed cool but it is too heavy compared to the rest of the machine. Its fun thought for a while at least I think my nephew wasn't into to it much and i think the controller layout is a little bit weird. 100 dollars could buy a cooler present I think but this was okay. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I did not get one of these for free to review. So I actually did research and ended up buying this over other products and spent actual money for it. I edited my review because it was exciting when I got it for my nephew but its less cool once the wow factor wears off. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The reason I chose this model over the cheaper Top Race version is because the cheaper model looked like a piece of junk and didn't have the same functionality as this model. What really concerned me about buying one of these is that all the models available in the $70 to $160 price range looked exactly the same and maybe just had the decals changed! The Huina brand for $12 more is identical. What also bothered me was that even the more expensive models in the $200 price range had more mixed reviews than this model. So how good could this one be? The Good Looks Awesome! The YELLOW plastic is of the quality I would expect from a $100 toy and is actually pretty nice looking. The speed of the excavator is acceptable to me. You can watch videos and it does move at a realistic scale pace. It spins pretty fast and the top unit spins at the same rate that the tracks rotate so you can keep the bucket stationary and spin the tracks underneath it which is cool. The size is perfect for an average size sand box. The battery has a USB charger which has a Red light that is solid when its first reading the battery level. Blinking when it is charging and turns off when its charged. Does anybody know if this has a heat switch or shuts off when its done? They call it a "Smart charger". The metal bucket is nice. The Neutral. The tracks seem just okay. They are made out of a harder compound than most rubber. I would guess this reduces the friction and helps it turn but makes it more brittle as well? I'm skeptical about the thickness of the rubber. The controller feels a bit light in the hands. The bucket also kind of wiggles a bit which I find annoying. I think its nice its made out of metal but I think it also is a bit too heavy compared to the rest of the machine which is all plastic and feels pretty light. The sounds are just okay. I thought they would be annoying my nephew will probably think they are cool. The Electric motors are noisy and the clicking is loud when one reaches its limit ( a good thing for kids?) The overall functionality seems like it is on the cusp of what I would be looking for in one of these. Everything seems like it just needs to be a tiny bit stronger and more durable to be a really awesome toy that's going to last a long time. The Bad The Whole track system seems a bit under engineered to me. The small roller wheels inside are of a brittle cheap plastic and I hope its assembly holds up. The rainbow led light in the cab seems like it doesn't fit the toy and makes it look cheap. A solid yellow or white light would have made this look a lot cooler but at least you can turn it off. The instructions are all on the box and written in poor English, even worse than the average American speaks these days. I don't think this could take a fall too well. I'm estimating this will be in rough shape at the end of the year but usable. At the end of next year it will be broken. Ill update in a year... Something this cool would be awesome if it was fixable and some things may be. but its going to be tough for some gears and such. After 10 minutes of use one of the control sticks doesn't return to the middle on its own... great. I did not receive my item with any defects and as far as I can see everything worked as it should out of the box although my box was messed up. It is overall a pretty awesome toy grade model. Planed future upgrades for when he breaks it. -Solid yellow or white light in cab instead of disco light. -ballast inside back of excavator to balance heavy bucket. -Taimiya type or at least stronger than supplied connector for battery pack. -spare battery packs If catastrophic failure -Would make a really cool arduino type robot. ... show more

  • Amazing quality, very durable and has dirt digging capabilities.
Style: RC Excavator
When my friend suggested that I get something that is Remote Control that is good quality I didn't have any ideas on what to get. I remembered that as a child, I always wanted an RC Excavator. This was my idea, so I jumped on the internet and searched up 'rc excavator'. I came across this Top Race one. I had no idea which brands were good or bad, so I bookmarked this excavator and kept looking. After looking at multiple brands, such as Vatos and Huina, I decided to watch some videos and read some reviews. The cheaper Huina excavators had poor reviews and the Vatos excavator had a smaller scale and that would mean it would have worse power. I tried to find some videos on the TR-211 (which I struggled to) and found a few. After I watched them I decided it was a pretty...decent...excavator. So I jumped back onto Amazon and ordered one. I was mind blown to see that my excavator arrived 10 days early. This was the first thing that impressed me. I unpacked it and plugged up the battery. finding out that it comes charged a little bit. I messed around with the controls and it started beeping and the lights and sounds turned on, so I figured it was low on charge. I plugged it in and it took less than the advertised amount of time to charge (says 4 hours, took 2 1/2 hours). This was another thing that I was impressed with. After I charged it, I went outside and my mind changed about the whole thing. After I started digging some dirt, my opinion on it went from decent to absolutely extraordinary. It has some great power, and I dug a hole that was about 30cm x 28cm x 5-7cm. I had the most fun I've had in a long time, and it lasted me around 1 hour 20 minutes (battery life depends on how much work you're doing). Ever since I got it I have been using it outside everyday...I haven't touched my consoles or laptop or phone for 4 days. Overall, this was one of the best things I've ever bought, and now I'm recommending the same excavator to my friend that suggested it in the first place, and I also recommend that people reading this also buy it. Amazing and very reliable product! ... show more

  • The arm did not work, had to send for replacement same day it arrived
Style: Fork
This excavator is really nice, heavy machine, metal grapple, solid construction. BUT, the arm did not work out of the box. The battery needs to be able to last longer. I will be looking for an additional higher capacity battery. The sounds are realistic and you can turn them off if you don’t want the sound effects. When sounds are off the machine is very quite. EDIT 4/7/2022 The arm started working right before I boxed it for a return, so it never went back and has worked except for twice since then. Everything thing else is still great. I have not found a second battery but if you are using it like a real excavator and are stationary most of the time the battery will last a long time. If you drive it around or long distance that seems to use more battery then just loading stuff. Overall it’s a great toy and we still play with it. Get it and you will have fun. More update. Arm needed to be taking apart and wire plugged in or soldered can’t remember but is still working great. 1/23 would like to find a battery with more life or a second battery. If you walk the machine a lot it will use up the battery. If you use just the arm and swing then it last forever. ... show more
