I have never owned TOMS or BOBS in my life, but I thought both shoes were adorable and their missions noble, so I decided to buy both shoes and do a side by side comparison. (I also included side by side photos of the unboxing of each shoe in the hopes that it might be helpful to someone else!) First up, TOMS (they were $34.76 when purchased). They are completely authentic TOMS when purchased from the TOMS retailer (as opposed to a third party company) so no need to worry. They are made out of textile (cloth and woven fabrics) and have a synthetic sole. They also have a canvas top with an elastic bit for an easy slip on design and comfortable fit. The shoes are very lightweight and come in an awesome assortment of vibrant colors with adorable interior fabric prints (although I personally chose black again which had a very cute cream and black wild life pattern on the inside). The insole is made out of suede and feels very comfortable but not as supportive as I was hoping for. An additionally bonus is that with every pair of TOMS purchased, an additional pair is donated to a child in need which is super rad. I do like these shoes but part of me feels like you are paying for the name. But they are still a great price and when you think of the good they are doing by donating a second pair of shoes it's totally worth it. Next up, BOBS by Sketchers (they were on sale for $28.88 marked down from $42.00 when purchased). They are made out of a canvas fabric and have rubber sole. They slide on easily and comfortably because of the stretchy goring wedge at the top of the shoe. The footbed is made out of memory foam and they have a shock absorbing low profile midsole which is great for those who find themselves on their feet longer. In addition they have an "arch pillow" that provides exceptional support. They also come in a beautiful assortment of colors, both vibrant, natural and pastel which I love! Even the interior of these shoes is adorable (for the comparison I opted for black which have the cutest black and grey cheetah pattern!). The bonus of buying BOBS is that they are currently running a promotion in which 25¢ from each purchase will be donated to the Petco Foundation to help save the lives of dogs and cats in America’s shelters. I am extremely pleased with these shoes so far! Although I really do like and recommend both shoes, I'd have to say that I personally like the BOBS more. In spite of the fact that both shoes look nearly identical, I do tend to side with the all black look that the BOBS have (although I recently found out that you can purchase that style in TOMS too! 😊). I also enjoy the fact that you have the option of choosing a wide fit (which I usually wear) in BOBS while TOMS unfortunately does not offer a wide option, they simply recommend buying a size up if you have wider feet. In addition, I really liked the memory foam footbed and the "arch pillow" in the BOBS because I'm on my feet all day chasing miniature humans and if I don't have proper support, my knees and hips will yell at me 😂. Last fall, a friend introduced me to Tom's shoes and I was interested because I wanted to expand my shoe options a little bit. After some research on sizes and colors, I decided to purchase a basic black since I was new to these kinds of shoes and wanted a color that would work with everything. These Tom's women's canvas slip-ons are a basic flat shoe that would work well for many people. The upper part of the shoe is made of canvas and the footbed is made of suede. At the top, there is an elastic piece so they slip on easier. They are made in China and for every pair that is purchased, "Tom's will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One." The inside of the black ones I purchased has an animal print and the soles are white. I almost always wear a size 7 in shoes, with the exception of my shoes for working out. These seemed to run true to size so I ordered a 7 in these and they fit wonderfully! I've had them for about eight months now and I've worn them quite a bit. I didn't wear them at all during the winter since I live in Wisconsin but I've worn them to a baby shower, a couple times to church, and to a number of other events and they are pretty comfortable. I have arches in my feet and these only have some support so after a few hours, my feet start to hurt but I feel that's to be expected. I really like the black color because it goes with a lot of different outfits and black is always a classic color, plus they don't show dirt as easily! I wear these with leggings, maxi skirts, and skinny jeans and they look great. Overall, I like these slip-ons and am glad I purchased a pair of them. They seem a bit expensive but I like the fact that purchasing a pair will give shoes to a child who needs them and that makes it worth it to me. They've held up nicely so far and I wear them quite a bit. If you are looking for a pair of flats that come in a variety of colors and help a child in need, I recommend purchasing these! ... show more

Like all Toms, I have to struggle to get them on the first time. But they quickly fit, are comfortable and aren't a struggle with future wearings. Love the color. I used to think Toms were ugly shoes, but I've grown to love them.

I am a huge fan of my TOMS shoes, I have owned about 4 pairs in the past 5 years or so. I do like that they are super comfortable after you wear them in of course. It does take a few times before they are a perfect comfortable fit. I love this online price compared to buying at the department store or on the TOMS website. They are much cheaper. The only thing about these that I am not to sure about is that it is taking a bit longer to break the shoe in, i am not sure why that may be. But, it's honestly not a complaint at all. I wear these shoes every day in the summer days and can wear them for work or just for going out. another thing that can be quite annoying is getting them wet, seems like if they get wet, from rain or from washing, they start to have a bad foot smell. So, I definitely try and wear them when the weather permits lol! No, seriously though, i can't wear them in the rain because they will not last me much longer after. I also don't care for the leather in sole. Because honestly who doesn't sweat when it super hoot out? They get really sweat and slippery on the inside when you sweat.
