Description

The classic Alpargata is our canvas slip-on that started it all For TOMS. It's pleated toe and single elastic v gore makes for easy on and off. TOMS Shoes was founded in 2006 by Blake Mycoskie. The shoe is a unique slip-on design comprised of clean lines and lightweight fabrics in vibrant colors and prints. TOMS was founded when Blake was inspired on a trip to Argentina by the traditional, rope-soled Argentine "alpargata." He was struck by the poverty and health issues of the country, and set out to reinvent the alpargata for the U.S. market, and in doing so to accomplish one goal: Making life more comfortable for those without shoes. To realize this purpose, Blake made a commitment to match every pair of TOMS purchased with a donation of a pair to a child in need. It's simple: If you buy a pair of TOMS, the company will give a pair to someone in need on your behalf. During its first year in business, TOMS sold 10,000 pairs of shoes, and Blake returned to Argentina to lead his first annual Shoe Drop during which he donated to the children who had inspired him. TOMS Shoes are now available in multiple colors and fabric combinations for men, women and a recently introduced line for children, aptly titled Tiny TOMS.

I really wanted these to work as I've been looking for a slip on shoe for casual use. The shoes are so minimalist and perfect for a city like Los Angeles for just walking around. Unfortunately, I'm right between sizes 12 and 13 for Tom's which is right where they stop making half sizes. I even tried a few other standard loafers from Tom's and have the same issue which is a pity. Their 12's feel like they're pinching too much and I can feel the edges of the sole under the sides of my feet. 13's go on and off too easily so they'll just be loose slippers when they break in. If there was a 12.5, these would get a 5 star. I did like them besides sizing. If you're like me and have slightly wider feet or fall between sizes, check out Tom's Avalon Sneakers. They're similarly priced, look somewhat similar but the main difference is they'll have a thicker and slightly wider base which will be more forgiving size wise and honestly a bit more comfortable walking in them.     • Very Narrow; Split when I tried to stretch them

Until recently I had never bought Toms because they are just so narrow. But I was recently in a wedding and was asked to wear Toms (way better than heels) so I had to get a pair. The pair I got for the wedding I was able to stretch out the toe box using a shoe stretcher and they fit perfectly, so I decided to get a 2nd pair (these). But where the ones I had before stretched perfectly using a shoe stretcher these split right up the middle at the base of the elastic on both shoes. So its hit or miss I guess... ... show more

I have admired these slip ons ans the Toms brand but thought they are too narrow for my wide feet. I wear womens size 12 and ordered a mens size 11 d. The length fits but still not wide as I would like. I have placed a shoe stretcher in them and will be wearing. I hope in the future Toms will cater to wide feet. ... show more

I like my first pair, I would buy again! They fit a little tight at first but they stretched to my liking pretty quick. I measured my foot and added a little extra. I would recommend no show socks.

These shoes cannot be worn outdoors, but they are no good for indoors either. They are NOT breathable. Your feet get sweaty. They need to be washed regularly. If you do wash them, the color of the fabric fades quickly. Regrettably, we bought three pairs of these sweaty shoes.

I love these shoes. They run slightly large but depending if you wear socks with them they can be just right. The sole of the shoe is not the greatest if you are on your feet all day but they are comfy enough to travel with, like driving or sitting passenger. Normally a 12.5 and purchased the 13s. A little large at first and the heel would flop like a flip flop, but as the shoes broke in they fit to the foot. No more flopping. Love these

This size was so small I couldn't put it on my foot. Also, the style is FEMININE which I hadn't realized on the website.
