Description

TOMS Shoes was founded in 2006 by Blake Mycoskie. The shoe is a unique slip-on design comprised of clean lines and lightweight fabrics in vibrant colors and prints. TOMS was founded when Blake was inspired on a trip to Argentina by the traditional, rope-soled Argentine "alpargata." He was struck by the poverty and health issues of the country, and set out to reinvent the alpargata for the U.S. market, and in doing so to accomplish one goal: Making life more comfortable for those without shoes. To realize this purpose, Blake made a commitment to match every pair of TOMS purchased with a donation of a pair to a child in need. It's simple: If you buy a pair of TOMS, the company will give a pair to someone in need on your behalf. During its first year in business, TOMS sold 10,000 pairs of shoes, and Blake returned to Argentina to lead his first annual Shoe Drop during which he donated to the children who had inspired him. TOMS Shoes are now available in multiple colors and fabric combinations for men, women and a recently introduced line for children, aptly titled Tiny TOMS.

I purchased these exact shoes a couple of years back and was very happy with them. I've also purchased several other pairs in burlap,black etc. all were exceptional . Sadly this pair takes an immense struggle to get on and then are far too small to be comfortable. It's a bit confusing, all were size 10 and all slid right on. However even with a shoehorn getting these on is nearly impossible. Have the sizes changed? Is it a different maker? Just don't understand. ... show more

I have worn TOMS shoes every summer for many years. Comfortable, lightweight, washable. I have several pairs and rotate them to match clothing. Size seems to be accurate. If you are unfamiliar with these shoes, give them a try. I doubt you'll be disappointed.

I was nervous to order these based on some other reviews, but the Ash colored men's fits PERFECTLY and even came in the TOMS box with the flag. I'm highly impressed for the price I paid! I mean, they are what they are. They fit alright, maybe a little snug. Recommend wearing socks because they are abrasive. The offer a little less sole padding than a pair of chuck Taylor's, and they don't look particularly good....especially on a man's foot. The color for the "ash grey" is definitely heavy with brown undertone to the point I wouldn't call these grey. ... show more

I already own a few pairs, so I knew what to expect when it came to sizing. I have been wearing TOMS for a few years now - they're great! They are as light as a feather, look good with or without socks, and they last forever! They survived Spring semester in Washington State - RAIN RAIN RAAAAAIN.... and they still fit, have lost any color, and hardly smell! I always buy them from Amazon, they almost always run about half as much as their own website. ... show more

I have always heard my friends complimenting toms shoes so i have always wanted to try them, and when i finally got them i got what my friends were saying it is so comfortable matches almost everything and comes with a small bag that you can keep your toms in when you travel or something and there is lovely sticker included. what i really love about them that i feel good wearing them knowing that another pair got donated to africa with my purchase to the pair i am wearing, i got this one as a tryout and i am planing to got a couple more ... show more

I was super skeptical about buying these shoes, (honestly, I thought they looked really gay) but I read the book Start Something That Matters by blake Mycoskie (the guy that founded TOMS) and really respected him as an entrepreneur. So I decided to get a pair and see how they worked out. They're not good for rainy weather, but they are comfortable and so lightweight that you could almost forget that they're there. They are pretty snug-fitting, especially if you try to wear them with socks, but people tell me that they stretch out a bit as you wear them. Overall, if you're thinking about getting a pair: do it. They're pretty cheap, especially here on Amazon, and they work pretty well as long as you don't live in the rainforest. ... show more

I love TOMS and these are no exception. As with most TOMS there's not a ton of special stuff going on here, not much support, no cushioning, but a very comfortable soul. I love the feeling of my feet not being trapped inside tight laced shoes and socks. I wear these sockless and hand wash them biweekly and they stay in great condition and stay clean. ... show more
