This product was fairly easy to assemble. It is lightweight. I do not think it is good for books because it is not strong enough. But it works great for my yarn storage or for clothing. It was slightly larger than I thought. Barely fitting on a standard with closet shelf. It was also too tall. So I took off the top bin and made a separate bin that I have under my desk. Fully Customizable, I used them as bookshelves, and storage in my closet. I have even seen photos of people using these to create a pen for their pet Rabbit! I have ordered 4 of these. The first 2 were impeccable, very sturdy, clicked into place exactly as they should. I don't know what happened the 2nd time I ordered, I ordered a pair of them. I opened both packages at the same time, so I have no clue if it was the 3rd or 4th package. But, there were serious issues with a few of the squares. I think the wire frame was cut too thin, because there were some loose fits, no matter how many plastic clips I tried I still couldn't get it to "Snap or Click" into place, it simply slid in and was very loose. I managed to put them in the middle of the build so the weight on either side should keep it together. I am still a bit nervous about the setup however it's holding together fine at this time. I am going to be honest, I just think I got unlucky with that 2nd pair of kits, which is why I did not take any stars off or even ask for a replacement item. I would certainly purchase these again, especially from this vendor, and I recommend them to anyone considering it. ... show more

I got these for my kids' room, and now they're holding sweaters, pajamas, small books and notebooks, and collectibles. I did them three across in two rows, even though the asymmetrical configuration is cuter, just to make it a bit more stable and give it a nice low surface to put more things on. They're sturdy considering they're basically just sheets of plastic. I wish the feet were a little lower -- I'd rather it was more flush to the floor than sitting a few inches up, but I suppose the idea is to be able to clean under it. The look is pretty stylish and modern, especially for the price, and definitely easier to move than a bookcase or dresser of the same size. The included hammer is silly -- it's a small wooden mallet made roughly, many splinter-looking bits. Just push the pieces together from both sides with your hands! And I did have to think for a minute about whether to do back, then sides (the instructions are sparse and just say "do the back and sides") but there's enough give that however you approach it, it'll jigsaw together. ... show more

Okay, so yes… I’ve purchased these shelves twice. Yes, they organize my living room and are aesthetically pleasing… and you would THINK that they would be easy to put together. All you have to do is snap the little boogers together, right? NO. These b****es kicked my a**. I’d get so far only to realize that a CORNER of 1 little panel had come undone, and in trying to fix it, more single corners of other panels would come undone. There was a lot of yelling. I accidentally broke a few pieces. I’m not done yet. I love the modular/ stackable / whatever idea and I love how they look but I will burn the house down before I try to put more together. Perfect for organizing my son's toys in the living room! Now I dont feel like I'm drowning in blocks. I'll be buying another to keep in his room. Now I'm able to sort his toys and as a pre-school teacher, a little bit of order goes a long way to keep the chaos at bay! It doesn't take up much space at all, I didn't have to rearrange my living room to make it fit and that's a huge plus for me. Really easy to put together, my 2-year-old even helped. It's just like a kinnex set. Since it's not wood, you'll have to rely on on what you keep in the cubes to add sturdiness. The panels are a thin, flexible plastic, but they've been pretty durable so far in the times that that same 2 y/o has tried climbing or sitting on it lol; he's just under 30 pounds if that helps. All in all- great product, maybe assemble in a different pattern if you have climbers, but great for organizing and it fits perfectly in my space. ... show more

Love this shelf unit!! It was so easy to put together. I think my husband did it in about 20 minutes and then he just carried it in to my daughter's room with one hand. Nice and lightweight! I'm not worried about the baby pulling it over and hurting herself as out is so light. We bought this to replace my 12 year old daughters dresser that fell apart and she loves it! She quickly organized all of her clothes into the Amazon basics fabric bins and loves how easy it is! We built the unit 4 cubes high (2x2) and it fit perfectly under her loft bed. We plan to combine the leftover cube with another set of 9 cubes we ordered to make a set of 6 and a set of 4 in her closet for toys/craft supplies/ etc. I'm so excited as these are affordable and versatile! I'm planning to buy at least one more for my son's room. The only thing I am a bit concerned with is whether or not it will hold up over time as it is made of plastic. Time will tell, however, I was happy to discover that the plastic shelves are built on a metal frame. They seem well Put together ave I'm hopeful it will stay sturdy. I wouldn't put anything too heavy on these shelves, but kids clothes/toys should be fine. ... show more
