This isn't the same item as the Thule 895. I wanted to mount these on 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" square tubing. These cradles do not support this but the 895 model does. Ordered the square tube adapters from Thule but they will only work with the Thule bars. Reason is the Thule square bars measure 1 1/4" x 1". They should be labeled as rectangular. I made them work by drilling holes in my carriers bars and using M6x1.0-75mm bolts. So far so good with heavy fishing kayaks but just be aware, they are not the same as the 895 models. Some extra effort was required to make them work but they were cheaper than the 895s. ... show more

Great little carriers aside from the mounting. Though these will easily fit most racks on the market my bars are wider than the mounting gear could accommodate so I had to fabricate my own mounting system. Other than that these are nice. I find it easier to get the boats up on these as opposed to my previous J style rack mounted kayak carriers. And, they feel more secure. ... show more

    • DOES NOT HAVE THE FITTING PARTS FOR SQUARE BARS

Opened these and was super excited to put them onto my crossbars to go kayaking this weekend. Then, I ended up frustrated and in tears. I have squarebars and there was no type of flip fit r adaptor included (which when I talked to Thule dealers they mentioned it should've been included with many other accessories for fitting onto different type of bars) so, I had to call around to many different stores, locally and online to find the adapters. Most places were out of stock though.. however, I believe I found some online hopefully they will work, because to return this "set" I would have to pay an estimated $200 in shipping! So PSA these DO NOT WORK FOR THULE SQUARE BARS. Would've been nice if it would have been detailed that way in the description. ... show more

When they state "Is compatible with all Thule and with most roof racks on the mark", this is completely false. This system is only compatible with Thule roof racks. Cannot be used elsewhere and the shipping fee on the return can easily exceed the selling price.
