These handlebar ends are what they claim to be. The finish on the metal is smooth and clean...hopefully they will hold up to my gentle usage. I've always liked raised ends like these on my bikes as I'm not racing and enjoy sitting up a little higher and more relaxed. These are an affordable option that will fill the need of any casual bike rider. The most difficult part about installing these is moving your currently handlebar grips and your brake levers. The handlebar ends then slide right on the handlebar and you simply tighten the single bolt to lock them in place. Use the included end caps to plug the hole at the end of the bar.     • Bar Ends; But Mounted Inboard for Comfort

I am a roadie and tri-rider mostly. I have recently added an MTB to my stable though; you always want just one (1) more bike. And while I ride single-track, I generally ride road and paved bike trail to get there. I simply wanted a more “natural” riding position as I am riding on pavement to get to where I need the MTB. “Natural” defined as road position that I am more used to. Bar ends for the win. These are budget aluminum option that fits perfectly. I note that I have fairly small hands; if you have larger hands you might want something different. I have fairly wide handlebars on my MTB, so I found mounting at the end was simply too wide for comfort. I switched my mount to inboard from my grip (which is now trimmed, sigh…), which is about the same width as my road bike, so this feels much more natural. I also note that there are no installation instructions, these are not marked Left or Right, and I wasn’t sure whether the hardware should tighten toward the front or toward the back. As I looked at photos, this appears irrelevant as people install them either way. For reference, I mounted them so the hardware tightens from the front; simply aesthetics. I also torqued them to 5 N-m, typical for this size of fastener; not sure this is critical? ... show more

Being the organizer and leader of a large social bicycle club here in Fort Lauderdale with over 1600 members and growing daily, the safety, health and well-being of our riders is always priority one. The same goes for our mounts as well. It is discussed before every slow roll. And one thing all my members know about me is that I love customization and personalization. And if it serves both safety and customization then roll on I say! My local bike shop could tell you how much they make from our patronage. And not just for technical stuff but for lots of other fun stuff as well, gadgets, toys and accessories are always welcome. I like to gift away some small safety item to our new members at the beginning of each slow roll, most often it will be a safety whistle to wear while riding. Sometimes the gifting goes to another level. It might be a lighting kit, a set of pedals or grips, locking kits, occasionally even a pair of gloves or a helmet. I encourage my members to keep their mounts very well maintained in order to not get left behind (in reality we would never let anyone get left behind). Anything that keeps you out of danger and improves the experience of riding is for us. We have had three wheelers and recumbent bikes. Road and street bikes, mountain bikes and beach cruisers. We enjoy all types of bikes and riders. Which brings up this Thinvik Bike Bar End set. Now we are all about the comfort and luxury during our slow rolls. We want everyone to be as comfortable as can be. I cannot do without these bar ends when riding long distances. Just having these for position changes is awesome, saves your hands and wrists from pain and cramps. This particular brand is a little short in length though. They were originally for protection for your hands from brush and branches while on mountain or forest rides. Now you can barely find these anywhere and even bike shop boys are not encouraging the use of these bar ends. Get yours while you can. They can save a long ride from being torture on your hands. Very easy to install. That’s if you know how to remove your preexisting end cap. You also have to trim your bar cover ( rubber or tape). I have large hands. I’m a little cramped as you can see in the photo. Overall fits like factory. This is meant for the end of the bar. This is a one piece. It’s not 2 separate where you can clamp it down anywhere on the bar. Very solid piece and does not migrate once it’s clamped down tight. ... show more

These are very nicely done end handlebars, they are very sturdy, relatively easy to install , you have to loosen your brakes and transmission handles and slide them in to install the handlebars. They have a nice attractive black matte color.
