  • The ridiculous feud continues
Jill and Sawyer are brought into the feud right off the bat! Dinner invitations for both to eat with the dueling families. And, they both decide that they want nothing to do with either idiotic family. As they find that they work well together, they develop a firm friendship. But, sparks do fly. Can they progress into a relationship when the idiotic families keep interfering? You will laugh at some of the idiotic things that happen and wonder how adults can act so foolishly. But, it is a fun, entertaining read. Good story and series. ... show more

  • If I lived in Texas, My life as A Cow Girl would have been so UNBORING!!
While the characters are complex by nature, they are also well developed individuals with a sense of not only who they are; but what others may think of them and what they feel about themselves. The story line remains full of twisty scenarios throughout it also keeps you concentrating on what is happening and does not let you stray off into distant directions. I was a thought invoking story, light in nature; but not whimsical or dull. Great reading when you are allowing yourself the full pleasure to read for fun and just for the heck of it. We all need stories like this one in our lives at times. ... show more

  • Love, laughter & tears
Funny and engaging is this writers style. Her characters are likable & interesting enough that you want to learn more about them. The stories that surround their families are a little crazy, but you want to see how it all works out.

  • A 100-year family feud filled with redneck crazy
I received The Trouble with Texas Cowboys as a gift and a gift indeed! This is book 2 in the Burnt Boot series. As a huge fan of the O'Donnell men I have been waiting patiently for Sawyer's story to be told and it was worth the wait and more. With all the shits and giggles that Carolyn Brown brings to us her readers continues on. Opening with a feisty redhead, Jill Clearly shotgun ready aimed at Sawyer O'Donnell. Miz Brown's description of Sawyer O'Donnell ladies will set your hearts racing and hoping he'll step off the pages into your arms-well mine anyway! Jill's Aunt Gladys owns The Fiddle Creek Ranch, which Jill will inherit. Sawyer has been hired on as the ranch foreman and lives in the bunkhouse -HIS bunkhouse that Jill will be sharing. To Sawyer this lady spells TROUBLE in more ways than one. The 100-year feud between the Brennan and Gallagher family continues in REDNECK CRAZY fashion as they draw in Jill, Sawyer and The Fiddle Creek Ranch. Did I mention Chicken and Hogs? Kidnapping? You will laugh out loud how Jill Cleary ends a bar catfight. This is the second time I've read this book and it was just as much fun as the first! ... show more

  • Steamy Second Book in The Burnt Boot series. Better than the first!
Love all of Carolyn Brown's books, but this one, the second in the Burnt Boots series, was another winner! I always love getting to know the new characters and revisiting the characters from the first book. Jill and Sawyer shoot sparks from their first meeting! The feuding neighbors are a laugh a minute and the two lovely ladies from the adjoining ranches are so desperate to beat each other out for the new cowboy--knock down drag out fights are the least of their plotting! Add to that the two guys viying for Jill's hand and you have double trouble! You have never seen two feuding families until you meet the Gallaghers and the Brennans! How about one family stealing the pigs from the other family and having them sold back to the same family as processed pork! Love that Jill and Sawyer became friends first and learned to work together as their love grew! Already waiting for the next winner from this terrific Lady! ... show more

  • the Trouble with Texas Cowboys by.Carolyn Brown
This novel would have been perfect if the heroine didn’t have such a horrible potty mouth. She sounded like such a darling girl until she opened nearly every sentence with the S word. Ms. Brown still is one of my favorite romance writers who seems to set the world right with her down to earth stories. Reviewed by Heide Katros, Winter Haven News, Florida ... show more

  • More Burnt Boot Fun!
I have never met a Carolyn Brown cowboy that I didn't like. Sawyer O'Donnell is no exception. He has all the cowboy traits that make up the ideal cowboy. Plus he has some of the best lines I have ever read in one of Carolyn's books. The heroine in this story, Jill Cleary is written so well that I can picture her perfectly in my mind. Jill seems to fit just right with Sawyer and the two of them together just make me want to swoon reading about them. Then there's the big feud and all the attention both characters get from the feuding families. The way Sawyer and Jill have each other's back to get out of some hairy situations with the feuding families plays so well in this story. If you like hot cowboys, strong feisty heroines and lots of laughs you will love this book. ... show more
