    • A Tasty and Interesting Addition to My Spice Cabinet and Grilling Regime
I ordered this brand because it had good ratings from folks who seemed to be experienced cooks plus it was a good value. My understanding is Aleppo is a more complex flavor of a mild chili. It's not supposed to be hot on its own, but can be combined with hotter chili flakes if desired. I used it on smoked chicken legs grilled on my Ninja Woodfire Grill. I loved the complexity of flavors it imparted on the chicken legs. I will also be using this as a finishing spice on certain dishes. I think it would be great on pizza! When I want a hotter chili with less complexity, I'll use standard red pepper flakes. As a side note: tasting it straight out of the bag does not bring forth the interesting flavor medley nearly as much as when cooked in the food or topped on already prepared food. ... show more
