This was so fun! Bought this one along w another one as a fun way to give $ for Xmas. It is not easy and I might add, the guys selling these at the mall taught us how to open and we still had couldn't get it lol. It was a hit at the party as it was getting passed around the room w ppl tryg to open. Great entertainment! The price is incredible as those same guys who helped us were selling the same box for $25! I couldn't see buying a box for that amount to them but another $30 inside!!! Will definitely buy again next Xmas if not sooner! ... show more

    • not a puzzle- just a box with a drawer. misleading description-
Boo! This box is not at all what we expected. From the description on the product page, it implies it is a puzzle box, "Beautifully constructed from 18 different wooden pieces". That, to me hints that you need to work the pieces out, to get the box open. This box is glued together so it is one piece, with a slide drawer on the end. Tip the box to the side and the drawer slides open. No puzzling required. Just open the drawer. Not too hard to keep "non-puzzling" fingers out as stated in the description. I gave this as a Christmas present to our nephew, with cash inside and he spent a half an hour working on it and just couldn't get it. He would get so close and just couldn't figure it out, so we gave him a little clue and then got to see his face light up with joy when he opened it and found a $50 bill inside. The expression alone was all worth the wait. When we received the box, there was a product code on it that you can go to their website and look up the instructions on how to open it, if you can't figure it out without cheating lol.     • Great product, poor QA, inconsistent quality
Ordered 2. 1 looked exactly like picture, functioned perfect. The second had a darker stain, obvious gaps where it opened, and only took a slight shake of the box before the ball bouncing around inside caused the drawer to slide open. I added about 5 layers of regular tape to each side of the drawer to get a tight fit. The presents were a big hit. Was a blast to watch both kids try to open them and could tell they were getting frustrated. The design is very simply, yet highly effective. I wish instructions were included, but instead you get a web url and have to go through hoops to get the instructions. If the build quality was consistent (and matched the good box I received), this item would get 5 stars. As it stands, purchaser may have to add some filler to tighten the drawer. ... show more

People complaining about this product are a bunch of unhappy crybabies. I bought seven of these for $42.00. They're not built to last to last forever, however it is a lot of product for six bucks. It's a tricky device to figure out the first time and it works because it's a simple product with no moving parts. Don't listen to the haters. There is false advertisement about the gift box, however. THAT my friends must be addressed by Amazon asap! Nevertheless, I would have bought it without the gift box pimp. ... show more

    • Nice quality & challenging puzzle
I ordered three boxes for gifts (to hold cash in a fun way for young adults), and they arrived extremely fast and looked really good. I had an issue with one of the boxes that would not stay closed/defeating the purpose, but their excellent customer service helped me resolve the problem without having to return the box. It’s worth noting that the customer service was extremely quick to reply and kept in contact with me until I was happy. The boxes were well-made with very nice looking wood, and would take several minutes or longer for your average adult to figure out, unless they have run across something similar to this box in the past.     • Takes feats of strength to open
If you are an Amazonian woman looking for a gift box for your Heman husband, this is for you. No instructions included, and I had no luck opening on my own so I had to resort to youtube to figure out how to open it. Turns out I was on the right track with the solution, but the drawer was wedged (glued/varnished?) in tight, refusing to budge. My fingers are raw from trying to pry this thing open and I didn't want to damage it with prying tools...finally got it open after using rubber gloves, a jar opener, and every ounce of strength I possess. Ridiculous. Also, as several others have said recently, this is nowhere near big enough to fit a gift card (so ignore those answers to questions from a couple years ago saying otherwise). ... show more
