I was skeptical to buy this because of some of the reviews, I am happy I did! It arrived in great condition, I didn't have a problem with the drawer falling out as some others did. I tried to solve it for about 5 minutes before I decided to look up the solution, It comes with a paper that sends you to the website. You can hear something rolling around inside, and at first I was worried it was a loose part, nope! Just a red ball. After I learned the directions I still couldn't get it open so I had my Husband do it, It was very difficult the first time, and after that it was very easy.     • Nice quality & challenging puzzle
I ordered three boxes for gifts (to hold cash in a fun way for young adults), and they arrived extremely fast and looked really good. I had an issue with one of the boxes that would not stay closed/defeating the purpose, but their excellent customer service helped me resolve the problem without having to return the box. It’s worth noting that the customer service was extremely quick to reply and kept in contact with me until I was happy. The boxes were well-made with very nice looking wood, and would take several minutes or longer for your average adult to figure out, unless they have run across something similar to this box in the past. I gave this as a Christmas present to our nephew, with cash inside and he spent a half an hour working on it and just couldn't get it. He would get so close and just couldn't figure it out, so we gave him a little clue and then got to see his face light up with joy when he opened it and found a $50 bill inside. The expression alone was all worth the wait. When we received the box, there was a product code on it that you can go to their website and look up the instructions on how to open it, if you can't figure it out without cheating lol.     • not a puzzle- just a box with a drawer. misleading description-
Boo! This box is not at all what we expected. From the description on the product page, it implies it is a puzzle box, "Beautifully constructed from 18 different wooden pieces". That, to me hints that you need to work the pieces out, to get the box open. This box is glued together so it is one piece, with a slide drawer on the end. Tip the box to the side and the drawer slides open. No puzzling required. Just open the drawer. Not too hard to keep "non-puzzling" fingers out as stated in the description.     • As long as you tell the receiver not to shake it, its a nice little puzzle
So I got this to house a gag gift for my boyfriend. I fiddled with it myself to figure it out and I definitely like the concept--it just needs better execution. After opening it the first time, a little shake will have the compartment sliding out. So I made a rule to my boyfriend that he can't manhandle it, he has to solve it. It doesn't need any roughhousing to solve it anyway. So he solved it within 5 minutes, but it was a fun 5 minutes! He definitely enjoyed the puzzle. I told him about how shaking it causes it to open and we thought it was because I put the compartment back in incorrectly, but that wasn't the case. You can see dimples in the compartment where the box is supposed to lock in to place, but I guess they wear down after the initial open. Which is kinda lame because I need to open it to put the gift in! Though again, its a nice, simple little puzzle. The receiver enjoyed it. Just can't handle any rough housing! ... show more

I ordered a few of these to give to my older nieces and nephews with gift cards inside. The boxes are wood and very sturdy. They seem to be all one sealed box made of wood, but in fact have a drawer that slides out and is perfect for hiding money, gift cards or small trinkets. A couple of the boxes were not snug fitting, and just tilting the box caused the drawer to just fall out. This defeated the purpose of the box, so I put my gift cards inside and then topped them with bubble wrap, enough to fill the drawer and make it snug in the base. This worked perfectly. I even tried to hold the box and shake it, trying to see if the drawer would work itself out from the motion. It did not. It took one of my nieces most of Christmas morning to figure it out. Most were able to get it within 15-20 minutes but with the bubble wrap in the drawer, no one got it out any quicker! I would recommend this product over some of the other maze or puzzle gift holders. Most of those were opened very easily without much effort, while this one took a little longer and more ingenuity. ... show more

This was so fun! Bought this one along w another one as a fun way to give $ for Xmas. It is not easy and I might add, the guys selling these at the mall taught us how to open and we still had couldn't get it lol. It was a hit at the party as it was getting passed around the room w ppl tryg to open. Great entertainment! The price is incredible as those same guys who helped us were selling the same box for $25! I couldn't see buying a box for that amount to them but another $30 inside!!! Will definitely buy again next Xmas if not sooner! ... show more

    • Takes feats of strength to open
If you are an Amazonian woman looking for a gift box for your Heman husband, this is for you. No instructions included, and I had no luck opening on my own so I had to resort to youtube to figure out how to open it. Turns out I was on the right track with the solution, but the drawer was wedged (glued/varnished?) in tight, refusing to budge. My fingers are raw from trying to pry this thing open and I didn't want to damage it with prying tools...finally got it open after using rubber gloves, a jar opener, and every ounce of strength I possess. Ridiculous. Also, as several others have said recently, this is nowhere near big enough to fit a gift card (so ignore those answers to questions from a couple years ago saying otherwise). ... show more
