This is a high-quality book that will help families spend quality time together, making memories along the way. Each page has 2 activities to be scratched off. Inside the front cover there is a handy pocket with a guitar pick-style scratcher, which was thoughtful to include! The book is categorized in types of adventures and there is a guide at the beginning to the "hints" that accompany each scratch off that help parents know what the adventure entails - such as having a meal, needing to drive somewhere, etc. The estimated costs and time duration are also very helpful for planning and yet also make this an adventure for the parents. There are adhesive strips next to each activity where you can stick a picture from the event and a few lines to write anything about your experience doing these together. It probably wouldn't be practical to do these every night, but it would make a fun family tradition for Friday nights, Saturdays, Sundays, etc. ... show more

Are you a tired parent running out of fresh ideas to keep your two kids-under-five engaged in family fun... because I am! In the constant effort to try to bring in fun, exciting, and new events and activities for my kids there are times I feel like I've run out of ideas completely... That's where this book is a miracle maker. The surprise is one positive element that comes with this book, but the encouragement and motivation that comes with scratching off a new idea is where the book really shines. Even on days when I feel like I'm completely out of steam, all we have to do is uncover a new game, activity, or adventure from the Family Night book, and I feel like I get a second wind. Fortunately, many (if not all) of the items included in this book are relatively easy to pull off, and they have (so far) generated a lot of fun memories for my family. We've set a goal to complete one of the items from the Family Night book each month... but I won't be surprised if we do more than that!
