Beautiful dress, but runs big! I normally wear a size XL in dresses and that's what size Amazon recommended I order, so I ordered an XL. It was SO BIG. The straps were falling down, it was just huge and unflattering. I actually returned it and got a size medium instead. Now, I'm 5'4, 170-180lbs with 38DDD breasts, so I was fully skeptical on a medium fitting, but the XL was SO big that I didn't think a large would be small enough. Well, it arrived today, and the medium fits perfect!!! The straps still seem a little big, but it fits perfect everywhere else. It is probably my new favorite dress. I love that it's not see-through, and it's not revealing but is still flattering. Will probably order a few of the other colors too! ... show more

This is a nice casual summer dress perfect for a BBQ or baby shower, or it can be accessorized to wear to an evening out or a concert under the stars. It is comfortable and the straps are wide enough to hide a bra, if that’s important. The fabric is lightweight but the dress is lined. Overall, it is thick enough so it’s not see through and yet light enough to flow and drape well. Being cotton, it can be washed. Size small fit the intended recipient perfectly and was a good length. There are so many patterns that it’s hard to choose. I showed it to a friend, who ordered one in ginger. Update: I ordered this dress in another color (and removed one star from my rating). The second dress was obviously a return from someone else. It had been washed and slightly shrank, but it still fits me, so I kept it. The tag at the neckline had been cut out and it had been sprayed with a super strong deodorizer like Febreze, or maybe the person used a heavy duty fabric softener—anyway, it stank and the smell lingered even after I washed and dried it. It seems like someone should have checked this return better?? I’m much happier with the first dress in blue that I purchased than with this one. ... show more

I bought this as a maternity dress for my brother's wedding and have also used it for my baby showers. I have gotten so many compliments on it and found the dress to be very light and breathable for hot summer days, even while in my 3rd trimester. I found the size chart to be accurate and I love the stretchy upper as it continues to accommodate my growing belly. I've worn it 4 times and it has held up through the washer and dryer so far. This is a great dress. I’ve tried on a bunch of dresses recently, and this one is a keeper. The layered cotton fabric feels substantial yet breathable. I got one in black and one in the blue pattern, and I have washed both. I hung them up to dry and they came out very nice with no ironing. The length is great, especially since I typically prefer to mostly cover my legs for church. I ordered an XL, and it has a generous fit for me. I purchased the recommended size (L), but it was too big on me especially at the shoulders, the straps kept sliding down and would need altered if I kept it. The rest seemed to fit, but then, I realized the halter area was also too large and sat too low. The hip of the dress looks really wide on me and it's too long at 5'2". I am more of a medium top, so that's most likely why the fit of the top is off for me. The straps are cute (if they would stay up) and large enough to cover bra straps. The dress has a liner as well, so no slip needed. The fabric is well made. Oh and it has pockets -everyone loves a dress with pockets! I bought this one with a coupon discount. I don't think the $70 price tag is warranted as the quality is good, but not at the level of the original asking price. If you are pear shaped - smaller on top, size down (order the size to match your top half), but realize that the dress will make your hips look much wider. ... show more

This dress is very well made, comfortable, and flattering. The skirt is fully lined and there are pockets. I appreciate a 100% cotton dress on Amazon. When you search "cotton dress" you get so many cheaply made cotton blend dress results. I bought this while it was on sale, but I would have bought it at full price because it is worth it. I'm currently 7.5 months pregnant and it is very bump friendly with the shirred bodice and flowing skirt. I'm sure it will fit me after pregnancy as well. I am 5'7" 135 lbs, 36B pre-pregnancy.
