  • Healthy & Delicious
Format: Hardcover
Bursting with simple healthy meals. Yes, there are some interesting ingredients which I've not used before, and some that may not be available where I live in New Zealand, however I'm keen to try them if I can get them, and seek out alternatives where I can. I made the falafel, and they were easy to make and delicious. I can't wait to explore other recipes in the book. ... show more

  • Good recipes for plant based, whole foods cooking.
Format: Hardcover
Excellent resource for those wanting to cook using only plant based, whole foods. A lot of the recipes use oil or coconut milk, so the recipes aren't fat free necessarily. But otherwise quite healthy.

  • Healthy, delicious, vegetarian
Format: Hardcover
I love the mindset and approach to the Blue Zone lifestyle and diet. I am a vegetarian and these recipes all lend themselves to that. I've had the book a few days and have already tried the Veggie-Forward Shepherd's Pie, the Adventist's Coconut Chia Pudding, and the Breakfast Sweet Potatoes. I've enjoyed all of them- the flavors are delicious. I do like to cook. The Shepherd's Pie was a more intensive process since I had never made it before (ever). Some of the ingredients are a bit more expensive, which unfortunately tends to be the case with healthier foods. We consider it an investment in our health and wellness. I have tags on many more recipes to try and look forward to finding some sustainable meals for my family to enjoy. Thank you ... show more

  • Opened our minds, expanded our meal choices
Format: Hardcover
I was so excited when this new book by the Blue Zones guru arrived on my doorstep. And it was all that I expected. Easy, healthy recipes and lots of gorgeous photographs. And a bit of the background story, too. We plan to make some of these one-pot meals each week until we've tried them all. It really helps us get out of our recipe comfort zone. We started experimenting with Blue Zones recipes about a year ago, and we have really expanded our variety of meals. Thank you for introducing us AND helping us implement this healthy and delicious way of eating. :-) ... show more

  • One Pot Wonder
Format: Hardcover
We cook at home a lot—about five nights a week. It’s healthier, cheaper, and we know what’s in the food. But here’s the thing: if you cook, you also have to clean. After a while, the dishes pile up, and that’s when we go on out. That’s where The Blue Zones Kitchen: One Pot Meals comes in. What if we could make a home-cooked, healthy meal—and then clean up just one pot? If that were on the table, we’d eat in more. A “Blue Zone” is a region of the world where people live the longest, healthiest lives. Dan Buettner has been reporting on these places for decades. Decades. Plural. And unlike most “longevity” brands, he’s not selling you miracle powders or magic water. Buettner is a journalist. The centenarians he covers... mostly eat in. This book takes that idea, not one, but two steps further: What do the longest-lived people eat? How do they prepare it? (Recipes included.) And most importantly/selfishly: Any chance Can I do this with less cleanup? The recipes are fast, approachable, rooted in the traditions of people who have figured out the whole “living to 100” thing. And yes—they’re delicious. This isn’t a “health food” cookbook. It’s a real food cookbook—one that knows food has to be delicious if you’re going to make it again and again. Blue Zones Kitchen: One Pot Meals shows us we can have our cake and eat it too. ... show more

  • Easy, Delicious and Practical
Format: Hardcover
While this isn’t a slow cooker or “set it and forget it” cookbook, the recipes are refreshingly simple, approachable, and easy to follow. The meals look flavorful and satisfying, and the book also offers plenty of inspiration for cooking at home more often. It’s a great mix of practicality and creativity, and a perfect resource if you want healthy, plant-based recipes without the overwhelm. ... show more

  • Super healthy, easy recipes.
Format: Hardcover
Great recipes, quick and relatively easy to make.

  • Not simple recipe
Format: Hardcover
Recipes in this book are clearly intended for a person with more advanced cooking interest and pantry. The “One Pot” title indicated simple recipes for someone wanting easy to make healthy recipes. Very disappointed!
