I had a lot of lose sockets without really knowing what I had and what I didn't. Plus whenever I was looking for one it was impossible to find with three pretty big tool boxes plus sets scattered though the years. These helped me figure out what I had and if I had a complete set or not. After putting everything in these I found that I didn't have a complete set anymore yet I have a better way to keep track of what I do have. Ok, like a lot of people, I have a drawer full of different drive size sockets that I have collected over the years with some of them being over 100 years old. So, I was looking for a way to organize them and many organizers are looking for a very large drawer to put them into. My work benches have a lot of standard cabinets as part of them and my roll always do not have large drawers. So, I needed something that was flexible for space. When these became available, I ordered them. Here is what I found: 1. These are light weight foam with stenciled sizes on them, except for the bit organizer which has nothing on it, just holes. They are sized such that you have a lot of flexibility in placing them in drawers. 2. One of the problems with a set like this is that they do not have all sizes in them, such as many of the x/32 size sockets. They also do not go over 7/8 in size, which leaves out a lot of sockets if you work on older cars. They also leave out some surprising sizes in metrics to include 4mm,15mm. 17mm, and 19mm, which are common sizes. 3. The holes are sized for inexpensive common sockets available today. If you have SK, Snap-on, or many other US and Germany company sockets that are older than 40 years, they will not fit into the holder as they are larger in diameter. That is not a fault of the company making this, it is just a point that tool diameters have changed over the years and inexpensive sockets and expensive sockets, especially impact ones, have different diameters. Hard to build a one size fits all without issues. 4. Another problem is how many point are your sockets? Do you have 6 point and 12 point? Do you various. Depths of sockets? Do you have multiple drive size sockets? If so, this may not be a good fit for you as the presumption is that you have one standard and one deep socket and that you have only two drive sizes. This will probably work for many people, but you might find it a tad on the expensive side for what you are getting. If they doubled the count so that you could do 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 inch socket sets, and include sizes up to 1 and 1/4 for standard and include the missing metric sockets, then I would recommend it. Just not a fan. The bottoms kept falling off and had to re-glue it. Holes seemed spot on just not strong enough.

    • Great, if somewhat fragile, socket storage
I'm a bit mixed on these - I love their addition to my workbench; they're incredibly light and the foam is easy to take sockets out of and put them into. On the other hand, I've already scratched and torn the corner out of these so they're definitely not great for working on the car, as they're more delicate and liable to soak up grease and oil. The counter-argument to that is that they're so inexpensive that it's easy to replace them. YMMV. Update - how on earth could I have forgotten the drill and screw bit holder? This now has pride of place on my bench - I had a bunch of loose bits that really didn't have a home; this product gave them one. I would recommend to the sellers to bump the price and add another one of these. They are beyond useful These will definitely always have a place on my work table, but shouldn't really be used as portable storage/filing. ... show more
