    • Spin and sound are not adjustable
Plays a sped up 10 second snip it of various instramental songs ranging from nursery rhymes, Christmas carols, religious songs and classical music. Music plays at one volume (which is rather loud). It has volume buttons that do not work. You must play the music if you want the mobile to rotate.

The baby is elated every time in the presence of this mobile. The smiles and babbles start like a reunion with a best friend!!! However I would pay quadruple to mute this f$&@ing thing. My biggest complaint is that it plays f$&@ing Christmas songs…ya take notice in that cause it’s painful.

So our 3 month old loves them contrasting colors. So that means she loves zebras and penguins. But who doesn’t!? The thing that first put me off was how big it was. I also wasn’t a fan that it has to be installed in one particular way. The music it makes isn’t adjustable and is quite loud.     • It’s okay….better for older babies
At before to 1 month: Not sure it’s worth $30. You have to wind it up yourself, and the music is loud for a newborn. It also only plays for maybe a minute, and then you have to wind it up again which seems a bit crazy when you are buying a mobile to occupy a baby’s attention (so you can’t walk away far without coming back to do it again). It also is only compatible with a crib, not a bassinet which I got it for. I had to jerryrig it to the side of the bassinet, but the hardware is meant to be attached to the spaces bars of a crib. I also thought it would play different songs but only plays the one kind. Would rate it at 3.5, for ease of assembly. Update 9/4: Baby now 2 months , and can appreciate the mobile now. The wind up lasts just under 4 minutes, and I’m not crazy about how fast the music plays in the beginning vs later in the minutes, but what can you do. It’s still annoying to wind up frequently, but it is cute to watch them follow it with their eyes, even if it’s just for a few minutes at a time. Music is still too loud for sleep/ relaxation, it’s more for cognitive learning I think. ... show more

My 2 month old grandson loves this. He enjoys watching it. It holds his a attention for several minutes. I believe the black & white is a great idea for infants. One thing I find disappointing is it barely runs an entire minute before needing to be rewinded. THAT is a nuisance.
