I picked up this 70mm aperture, 400mm focal length refractor hoping for a solid beginner telescope, but it ended up being a mixed experience. The listing advertised up to 200x magnification, which I later found out just isn’t realistic for a scope of this size. Anything close to that level is extremely blurry, so the claim feels misleading. The telescope does come with a few accessories, which is nice, but overall it fell below my expectations. The stand is very wobbly, making it tough to focus or keep objects centered in the view. Even so, I was able to take a few decent pictures using the included phone holder, so that was a plus. It’s an okay starter scope for casual viewing, but definitely not as powerful or stable as advertised.

Bought this for my grandson and was disappointed. It was for his birthday and upon opening the package it sounded like something was loose, it was a screw inside and he was not able to use it. We returned it.

The 3x lense came damaged, it uses a cheap glue the broke loose. The adhesive was on the lense as well. Must have been Friday at the telescope factory. I sent it back. I feels really cheap for the price. *********UPDATE********** I was contacted by the seller after my initial review and offered to refund my purchase. I informed them that I had already returned the telescope and received a refund. The seller then offered to send me out a new telescope. I received it and all the parts were functional and in great condition. I set it up and my daughter and I had fun looking at the moon together. I appreciate the level of customer service the seller display and the willingness to go the extra mile to make thing right without being asked to. That alone makes we want to do business with them in the future and I do enjoy the telescope now that I have one that works

This telescope is aimed at beginners, which I am, but with a very long history of photography and tripods. The quality of build is very nice, with the exception of a very flimsy tripod, which requires using a weight attached to the bottom hook on the main shaft. I had no problem using it, and even comes with an adapter to use your phone, but I just haven’t used it yet. UPDATE: I tried the upper magnifications, including 200X and this scope is just does not perform anywhere close to that. I tried the weight on the tripod and it is still too flimsy to use.
