    • Quality for Price, Easy for Beginners!
I recently picked up the Hawkko Astronomical Telescope, and it’s been an impressive introduction to stargazing that comfortably balances power, clarity, and ease of use. Right out of the box, the telescope feels thoughtfully designed for both beginners and more curious hobbyists. With magnification ranging from 36X to 270X and a 900mm focal length, it delivers a satisfying level of detail—especially when observing the moon. Craters, shadows, and surface textures come into sharp focus, making each session feel rewarding and immersive. It’s also fun to use for distant terrestrial viewing, which adds to its versatility. What really stands out is the 90mm large aperture lens paired with full multi-layer coating (FMC). The difference is noticeable: images are brighter, clearer, and sharper than expected at this price point. Light transmission feels excellent, and even during less-than-perfect viewing conditions, the telescope performs reliably well. Stability is another strong point. The stainless steel AZ mount tripod is sturdy and smooth, offering full 360 degrees rotation and easy height adjustment from 28” to 46”. Tracking objects across the sky feels intuitive rather than frustrating, which is a big win in my book. Despite its solid build, the setup remains portable enough for backyard use, camping trips, or casual outdoor adventures. Setup was refreshingly simple. Following the instructions, I had everything assembled in under 15 minutes. The included smartphone adapter is a great bonu. It adds a fun, shareable element to the experience. Finally, the accessory kit makes this telescope truly beginner-friendly. With the finder scope, zenith mirror, 25mm and 10mm eyepieces, 3X Barlow lens, tripod, carry bag, accessory tray, and smartphone adapter all included, there’s nothing extra you need to get started. Everything fits neatly together, and the included carry bag makes storage and transport simple. Overall, the Hawkko telescope is a well-rounded, reliable choice for anyone looking to start their astronomy journey. It combines strong optical performance, thoughtful accessories, and user-friendly design into a package that feels both accessible and capable. Whether you’re exploring the moon for the first time or enjoying casual stargazing under the night sky, this telescope delivers an enjoyable and confidence-building experience. 🔭✨ ... show more

    • Great bang for your buck

Honestly I just wanted a telescope that worked without costing a ridiculous amount, and this one surprised me in a good way. It was pretty easy to set up, and once I got the hang of focusing, the moon looked crazy clear. Like you can actually see crater detail, not just a bright blob. The mount is simple to use and it points where you want it to, and the included eyepieces are fine for starting out. Using the lower power one first makes it way easier to find what you are aiming at, then you can switch to the higher power after. It is not perfect because it is still a budget telescope, so it can shake a little if you bump it or if the ground is uneven, and the phone adapter takes some messing with to line up. But for the price it feels worth it, and it is genuinely fun to use. If you live somewhere with low light pollution like the Big Island, or parts of Arizona, Utah, or just anywhere more rural, it is even better because the sky is already doing the most. And love the phone mount!!! ... show more

    • If you want to watch Jupiter & saturn with it's rings this telescope is the best
I literally just watched saturn & Jupiter cleary through my window glass. Was a little bit tiny but the saturn's rings were clearly visible. Can't wait to use this telescope outside for skywatching in summer.

Great telescope for beginners and casual stargazing! Setup was straightforward and the tripod feels stable once everything is adjusted. I was initially worried i would knock the telescope over but the tripod has a piece you add for support and it really does make it very sturdy, the worry went away quickly. I also like that it comes with useful accessories like the phone adapter that easily fit my iPhone. Overall, it’s an excellent value and a fun way to explore the night sky. Highly recommend! —— Completely forgot to mention I absolutely love the fact that this is so easy to take with you on the go. It only takes a few minutes (if that) to set it up and it comes with a carrying bag where everything fits nicely. ... show more

I've recently gotten into sky watching as an amateur enthusiast, and this telescope has been the perfect start for me. Right out of the box, it was easy to assemble—no confusing instructions or tiny parts to mess with, which was a huge relief. Within minutes, I had it set up and was ready to go. In terms of performance, it's impressive! I took it out to a spot with minimal light pollution, and wow, the clarity of the stars and planets was amazing. It’s sturdy and handles well, so I didn’t have to worry about it shifting or getting blurry when I adjusted the focus. Even in my backyard with a bit more light, it still gives a solid view of the night sky. One bonus I didn’t expect: it’s great for bird watching too! I took it out during the day, and the detail it captures on far-off birds is incredible. Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase. It’s easy to use, versatile, and just plain fun. Whether you’re in a city or can find a dark-sky spot, this telescope is a solid pick for beginners and hobbyists alike. Highly recommended! ... show more
