I bought this as a gift for someone. After doing some research I suggested she opt for another type but she's an adult and she didn't take my advice. It's a struggle to use for a beginner, hopefully over time it will get easier for her to use. I don't recommend it to first time users.

Ad states you can use your cellphone camera to take pics, only you can't because newer cellphones have 2 or 3 lens which do not fit on the telescope -only 1 lens phones work. When asked via email if an adapter was available for the newer cellphones received no response. Sending telescope back.

I would consider myself a beginner to the telescope world, and this was hard for me to use, it was relatively easy to set up, and I don’t know if it was just me, but I had a hard time keeping it very steady when swapping out lenses and moving it around. It looks pretty cool with its bright purple body and the whole thing is huge and heavy so it looks very impressive overall. It does appear to be quality with heavy well-made lenses that do magnify a lot. I was able to see very well out of it to see the stars, the cell phone mount is worthless because my phone doesn’t fit. So I am completely unable to take photos on my cell phone. It must need an adapter of some kind. But if all you wanna do is look at the stars, this works well, you just have to move carefully and maybe there’s a bit of a learning curve. I do think this is a great way to get kids interested in the stars in the sky!

Beware!!!! Manufacturer does not mention a parabolic primary mirror !! An f/4 and below scope requires one for planetary detail!
