  • Does not take "standard" parts - But nice quailty
Looks like I'm the first reviwing this. I have to give it a 3 star, close to 4 but not quite. Here is why. The remarks says will tkae Happ joysticks/buttons and "almost" all joysticks. I have Happ and X-Arcade parts. They don't work. The buttons are too long to fit in the case. When the lid is shut it is just shy and the switches hit the bottom. If you have all short buttons it would work. But most good quality 30mm are not short. Don't think about using Ultimarc Joysticks. These are top of the line, but won't fit. Even if the screw placehold were adapted (which I planned to do) they joysticks will hit bottom. I had a single hold mount joystick so I drilled a whole in the plexi and mounted it dead center. The joystick just hit the bottom, so I drilled a whole in the bottom of the case so the joystick bottom can swivel. Since the rubber legs lifts the case alightly it worked out fine. I put a spinner on the left joystick hole and a button on the right so I can use the panel. So over all: Problems: Doesnt take good quality controls (or what I consider good quality, I have never used the kits from amazon which would fit this). I had to order Swansa buttons which cost me an extra $10 and I don't like the colors. Now I have all my happ/x-arcade stuff left to figure out what to do with and have to wait longer to play. Had to pay another $10 as well for 4 24mm buttons for the start/coin/etc. I knew that was coming, but just another expense after the button issue. Had to Drill through the bottom of the case to give a little more clearance for the joystick. Will have to do this with the spinner from ultimarc as well if I leave the flyweight on the bottom. Positives: Well packaged and arrived in nice shape. Beautify case. If you buy the parts from amazon (Joysticks and buttons and it comes with keyboard encoder for $40 bucks) it should be a breeze. just don't use other manufactuer parts. Has a good look and feels solid. Drilling through the thing was a pain. Made of a good guage metal and a thick plex on top. Artwork is nice. Make sure to take of the plastic coating on top. It's so tight you can't even tell its there :-) Easy access since its hinged and makes it easy to work on. Over all I probably would not have purchase this if I knew the problem with the hardware I already have. But if you get the kits from amazon with everything you could have a console for $80. Which is pretty good. I don't know how well the hardware is though. And I've built a couple consoles in the past and really swear on upper end stuff. ... show more

  • Don't buy for a Pandora 9 arcade box.
Size: DIY Arcade Case 2 Player Color: Black 1
The case came, and the outside is as shown in description pictures. The top was a thick acrylic and looked nice from the outside. But... I opened the case up and saw that the mounts screwed into the acrylic to hold the front down were cracked from possibly using too much force or too small a screw hole from the factory. Three of the screws cracked the acrylic from underneath the top. The graphic sticker on top covers the cracks but could be a problem if you played hard on it...as cracks can continue to edges and cause strength problems. The biggest problem with it is there are standoffs built into the bottom of the metal chassis that do not even closely fit a Pandora's box 9. You would have to find some way build an adapter to screw into the case and move the mounts more together by over an inch to get the Pandora to mount. I think they are high enough standoffs for the Pandora but couldn't tell till I made an adapter. I don't know what they used for measurement of the standoffs but they certainly don't fit a Pandora's box. You gotta put a bit of time and thought into this if you want it to work. I guess that's what is required for DIY stuff... I think I will return it. Kinda a "you get what you pay for" thing. Would not have taken much to build this unit correctly. With the cracks, Japanese only joystick mounts, and Pandora mounts way off, It could have been a much more usable unit. ... show more

  • Good, could be better?
Size: DIY Arcade Case 2 Player Color: Black 2
It looks good quality and durable. Only cons really is that not all screws were included. So i only have 2 per joystic and only one to have it closed. Also, BEWARE, the holes for coin and play starts are smaller in diameter than the rest. I should have payed attention, but it doesnt make sense to make those holes smaller. ... show more

  • Joystick and buttons were solid but wiring harness was faulty
Size: DIY Buttons and joysticks Color: Blue
I like the feel of the joystick and buttons. Had a time to get it all to work due to faulty wiring harness. I actually had butchered my controller board trying to find out why the joystick wasn't working when I pluged in my DIY fight stick I assembled with using this kit. I acquired some cabling to test out the possibility of the wiring harness being the problem and it was. Now have my DIY fight stick up and working. ... show more

  • Nice well package and looks nice.
Nice product! Package well and looks nice in person. Would've got 5 stars if the Happ buttons could fit. Only the short buttons like Sanwa or Sanwa clone buttons only.

  • Empty arcade console for a pandora box
A little smaller than a normal pandora box but its cool was awesome to get an empty one

  • Nice look one major issue.
First of all I love how sleek it looks and it really comes alive with the LED buttons. The only real issue is that the start and coin buttons are too small. Every other button fits like a glove but the start and select button holes were made smaller which doesn't make a lot of sense when the button sets usually come in the same size. ... show more
