A tire specialist for aircraft tires explained that valve stem caps are what seals the air in. The internal stem is to temporarily hold air while filling a tire. I'd used cheap plastic caps all these years to keep dirt out. Online I searched for quality valve stem caps and discovered Tactilian. Tactilian says they share funds for veterans and I will and did buy Tactilian. Just to see, on Amazon I compared American flag caps of Tactilian and a Chinese company with half the Tactilian price. Looked the same. Same flag picture. Both aluminum (allegedly). To seal, Tactilian uses an O-ring, Chinese uses flat rubber. In my experience, I see American companies design great ideas in room heaters, slow cookers, CD/DVD players, bedside clocks, and so on, then get Chinese to manufacture. In each product, the plastic smells like industrial waste and makes me sick. Clock switches break. Parts don't fit. Parts break soon. I buy USA and I get QUALITY. ... show more

Had these on a previous truck and also added them to my new one. They are short stem caps, so if your vehicle has long stems, there will be a gap with threads exposed.
