This is a great smell it smells of good good quality. In addition it projects but for me its not overwhelming at all its a good smelling projection well worth the buy. Also its more unisex I've heard people say its feminine for me not so.

Scent: Shaghaf Oud Tonka
Waited months, contemplating this blind buy. For reference- I’m a fragrance collector and I go into a blind buy knowing I can’t return and if I don’t like- I will use for spraying in my home or on the carpets in my car etc. My favorite is Jo Malone , Myrrh and Tonka- there are many dupes out there and this Oud Tonka was Not marketed as a dupe but I’m always trying to find similar scents as to Not use up my expensive products fast! This was a no go for me. Lovely box- bottle - scent is strong and lasts almost too long for me. The overwhelming scent profile I smell is almond. I like Oud and I Like Tonka,, I just can’t “wear” this one. It’s too in your face for me. I find with a lot of these brands some of them are boldly pungent and don’t settle to a softer dry down. Just wasn’t for me, but I’m glad I tried it!! I do own Casablanca by Swiss Arabian as well. It’s a lovely vanilla/ apple scent - strong but settles feminine. I did read all the reviews before I took the plunge but that’s the risk we all take with blind buys!! I’m guessing the other shagaf options are lovely as well! Just too strong smelling and almond forward for me! ... show more

Amazing fragrance!! This is my fourth time purchasing this bottle and I will keep buying it because it smells wonderful, it lasts all day AND it is stackable! If you love vanilla and musk you gotta buy this purfume!

Scent: Shaghaf Oud Tonka
This is a beautiful almond fragrance. It opens with a sweet almond and slight cinnamon note. Orange blossom comes in the mid with a faint rose very far in the background. I don’t care for rose fragrances but this is not at all prominent. It adds just a bit of depth. Tonka and vanilla round out this stunning blend. To me, this is more of a fall and winter fragrance. I got this in May. It smelled like pure alcohol when I first got it. I was a little worried. I have many Middle Eastern fragrances and I know they need to macerate but haven’t had one that smelled so strongly of alcohol and nothing else. This had to macerate for a good 4 months to get to where it now smells absolutely amazing. I always like to put this reminder in my reviews of Middle Eastern perfume. They need to macerate. Some only take a few days but others might take several months. I give this a 10 for fragrance 10 for strength. I’m an over sprayer but you truly only need 4 sprays max with this one 10 for projection. People will smell you! This is one of my favorite blind buys. ... show more

***This is a review for BOTH Shaghaf Oud and Oud Aswad (gold bottle, black bottle)*** Shaghaf Oud (gold bottle) is a perfect fragrance for women like myself who aren't into the fruity florals constantly being marketed to us. Smooth, rich, warm, and definitely gourmand, this is a beautiful addition to my accumulation of Arabian oud-based perfumes. I can't stop smelling myself when I wear this. The saffron opening and subtle oud in the background add depth and keep you from smelling completely like a bakery, but you WILL smell edible nonetheless. Apparently the sillage and projection aren't bad either, since strangers have walked up to me in stores and complimented me on it. As to longevity, I can wear this all day, jump in the pool for an hour, and still catch whiffs on my skin afterward. For me, Shaghaf Oud is late afternoon sun and warm summer nights. Seductive is its middle name. Fans of amber, tonka bean, and of course oud will enjoy this. Another, similar fragrance is Lattafa's Oud Mood, but I have both because the latter has a delightfully subtle floral opening and the woodiness is more present all the way through the drydown. Also, Oud Mood doesn't last as long and wears a bit more lightly if you're afraid of overwhelming people with the Shaghaf. If you're looking for a more pronounced woodiness though, check out Lattafa's Raghba Wood Intense for all of the gourmand but also lots of smoke, spice, and more pronounced oud. I have all three. For a more oriental, slightly (but not cloyingly) berry note, go for the Shaghaf Oud Aswad (black bottle). That's beautiful as well, a bit like Narciso Rodriguez' original black bottle ("Her") and Jesus del Pozo's now-discontinued In Black. The oud sits in the background of this fragrance as well, and Aswad overall has a much different mood to it. Some may find it a bit heavy, for night, or more for colder weather, but I wear fragrance based on what I'm feeling, not time or season. It is definitely not for the 20's set, as it is way too nuanced to appeal to young noses. The opening is floriental with a bit of fruity undertone- my nose isn't sophisticated enough to pick up on what fruit, exactly. It has the characteristic woodiness that should be there in any perfume that has "oud" in the name. It doesn't last as long as the gold bottle, but the projection is every bit as mighty. When you want to smell like a grown woman but aren't going for the edible, gourmand component, wear the Aswad. I wear the gold bottle more frequently, but when I'm feeling the black bottle, I can't stop smelling myself with that one on either. They are different, but equally worthy, additions to any fan of ouds. No idea how either of these wear on men, I can only speak from my own standpoint. A good fragrance is a good fragrance no matter who wears it, in my opinion. ... show more

Scent: Shaghaf Oud
Having seen multiple videos on social media extoling the wonders of Shaghaf Oud, I caved and made the purchase, even though, I have worn the same fragrance since high school & receive multiple compliments on it. The bottle is beautiful & heavy. Upon taking the cap of , I was immediately captured by the intoxicating, warm scent. Heeding reviews that warned using lightly as the scent is strong, I sprayed on one wrist and one side of my neck. I adore this scent, but- it completely disappears on me. The scent doesn't last for even 4 hours, it doesn't stick to my clothes. Being in close proximity to people and even hugging, no one can smell it.
