I have been looking for a mattress topper that would fit my needs for awhile now. There are many toppers that say they will inflate to the full height they claim, this is just the first on that actually did. This topper is so comfortable and supportive. Here is the deal. It was only a few months ago when I purchased a mattress online that was within the $300 range. Now I have purchased "memory foam" mattresses in the past within that price range and they did hold up for a few years. However with my most recent mattress, after a month it was no longer supporting me the way I needed. I tried a few ways to fix my mattress issue and eventually just tore the top part of it off so it would support. (Ultimately just buying a quality mattress right now would be ideal, but I am not going to spend the $1,400 to make that happen right now). Once I "fixed" my mattress situation, it was sleeping a little too firm, hence my hunt for a quality mattress topper. In the past I had a Tempurpedic mattress, so I was hoping to find a topper that would be equivalent. And...I found it. I let the mattress breath for 24 hours before I put it on my bed, it fully inflated and it fit my queen mattress perfectly. The first night on it, I slept so well. I actually had energy when I woke up, which speaks well for a comfortable sleep. If you are looking for a quality mattress topper for a median price, this is the one you want. I would say it's firmness is a "semi-firm" feel with just the right give if you are a side sleeper. ... show more

I've had a super firm Sleep Innovations memory foam mattress topper for 10yrs. It finally have up. If the room is even slightly warmer than 65°, the topper become mush. Since the exact replacement is not currently available, I took a chance and ordered this one knowing it didn't have the same density rating. When I unpacked it, I could tell immediately it was much softer than I wanted. However, after 48 hours, it has plumped up and firmed up nicely. I've slept well on it. It's still not as firm as I really wanted, but it's firm enough that I'm happy with it. To add context, my former topper felt like a rock to the touch and then molded itself to my body as it warmed up. The difference is in the foam density. My former was a high density foam. This is clearly a medium density foam, but quite comfortable. If you are exceptionally heavy or have specific back issues, you likely want a high density foam. However, if availability or cost are a factor, you can make do with this one for some time. Meanwhile, if you're not very heavy, this one should serve your needs quite well and for long time. The topper comes with a removable, washable cover, and straps to hold it in place. Do plan on giving it the full 48 hours to decompress. 3 month update: I love this topper. I slept on it after 48 hours thinking it was fully expanded. I was wrong. It was much firmer after 72 hours. It's so much better than I expected. I'm sleeping well and awakening each morning refreshed and pain free. I haven't had to take ibuprofen for two months! Really happy with this purchase! ... show more

We've had it for a week now and so far so good. I'd say it's been life changing so far, but it's only been a week and I'm not sure what to expect for the lifespan of these and how well they hold up to sleeping on every night yet. I haven't been able to sleep in my bed for quite some time because I wake up in absolute miserable hip and back pain. This has brought me back to my bed and I seem to be looking forward to climbing into my bed at night now, and I mean CLIMB! This thing is definitely 4 inches thick as long as you allow it to fully inflate for 48 hours before use, so added onto a mattress, get ready to take a running jump to get into bed after adding this! Also, prepare to get some deep pocket sheets, you'll need them. A week in and it's still giving off "the smell", if you know what mattress topper smells like, you know that lovely chemical smell. Hoping it will dissipate soon. There is still a crease "bump" in the middle going on where it's folded for transport, but doesn't bother me as I sleep on one side of the bed and hubby on the other. I need my space when I sleep and we have a king size bed so, if you're a cuddler or like to sleep close to each other at night, this could pose a problem for you. Not a cooling topper, but doesn't seem to trap heat either. It's the same amount of heat I've experienced sleeping on my mattress and I get hot when I sleep (damn hormones). Firmness is more firm than I expected, but not uncomfortable for me at all. Litterally hugs your body and relieves all the pressure points without that sinking into bed feeling. So I had this on my wishlist for at least 6 months. There aren’t many California King mattress toppers and even fewer with more than 4 stars. Needless to say I’ve been really skeptical. I wasn’t sure anything was going to be worth the price tag, not smelly, actually 4 inches, etc. But this was definitely worth the buy. I LOVE IT!! I’s the best money I ever spent lol. I let it air out for 8 hours, measured it and it was fully formed. If you don’t want to be worried about returning something that might not work, get this mattress topper.
