Totally a personal opinion. I really wanted to like this shoe. Well priced, looks cute - perfect summer white tennis shoe. Firstly - I ordered my normal size: 7. It arrived and was too large. I'm not fussed about that - if I liked it - I would play Goldilocks until I rec'd a shoe that fit. This is a really well made shoe. Great stitching & construction. Great price, too! What I did not like: the shoe is heavy. Heavy out of the box and noticeably heavy to wear. Held onto it for a few days deciding if I was going to return or exchange. Love, love, love these shoes!!! I have worn them almost daily for 2 1/2 years. They are slip resistant, and I have washed them multiple times in the washing machine. My only complaint- the metal eyes rub on the white laces, and they discolored easily.

    • Roomy toebox makes these a great shoe for wider feet.
I love these shoes so much that I ordered another pair to replace my first pair after a seagull made an unusually accurate shot on my first pair. I wore them exactly 4 times on vacation. As we were leaving our first hotel, we had our suitcases and other bags on a luggage cart. The bag of shoes was hanging from a hook on the cart above the suitcases. These white shoes were on top since I had decided last minute not to wear them on a rainy day. That night, after we had unloaded and were unpacking at our 2nd hotel stay, I found the shoes soiled with bird droppings! The gull had to have placed a pinpoint accurate shot on my shoe bag. Took me a day to surmise how that bird could have gotten the shoe but missed me. The hanging shoe bag had to have been the scene of the crime. And after seeing how accurately they hit statues and public landmarks while leaving most of the area around those site unfettered, I don't think it was an accident :-) !! Thank goodness my size was still available (with a bit of a savings!). I usually take an 8wide or an 8-1/2 wide. If I can't get a wide width, going up to a 9 will often work depending on the toe box width. Toe box width on this size 8-1/2 shoe is pretty wide as is the heel. You'll need socks that cover the Achilles ankle or these will rub. I'm not sure that a heel grip would stick to the canvas of this shoe. I also have a bit of a hammer toe, so I wear gel cushion around my big toe. The canvas seam is near the big toe joint and could be an irritant for this condition. But the gel cushions work for me. Two things I'd like to make people aware of: 1) My original Supergas were made in Vietnam and fit well. Since then I have ordered 2 more pair (from Amazon and Nordstrom) and both were made in Mexico. The fit was awful. Very awkward looking so I returned. Fast forward 2 years...decided to try these again because of the great price. I received a pair made in Vietnam and they fit great. It's unfortunate that you don't know where the shoes are manufactured before ordering...even from Nordstrom at full price. 2) The laces are ridiculously short (see photo). Can't possibly make a bow...a knot at best. The laces from my prior pair were easily 5-6 inches longer. However, for the cost of another pair of laces, I'm happy with these Made in Vietnam shoes.
