This was a pleasure to mount. Fits my fat tire cruiser wheel. Zero problems installing. I have higher handlebars (see pic) and the cable reached. Excellent sturdy materials. Metal, not plastic brake lever and adjusting screw. Solid arms on the caliper brakes. Sturdy spring to hold the brakes open when not braking. Well designed mounting screw adjusts easily to keep brake centered on wheel. Great stopping power. Nice to have a brake I can trust.

Was intimidated at first but this thing worked great and easy to setup. If you cant figure it out you probably shouldnt be doing this sort of job. It was high quality super heavy duty metal.

Does the job but I'm not looking for them to lst very long..The through bolts just shy of being too short..I found some better hardened grade bolts at Lowes that worked a bit better..the pads is a cheaper brand and I'm not expecting them to live long but you pay for what you get!!

Bought this set to add caliper brakes to my wife's cruiser that came only with coaster brakes. Front tire has a fender that will require a small amount of reshaping where the brakes barely clear with the brand new pads. It's okay now, but as the pads where, I can see the fender obstructing operation of the calipers. After talking to my local bike shop, it appears that fender friendly caliper brakes don't really exist, so these may be your best bet for the money. And here's why this product gets three stars. I ended up returning the first set, and buying a second, as a bolt broke during installation of the first. The hardware is not very strong, so tighten with caution. I would have replaced it with a stronger, properly sized, and threaded carrier bolt, but one of the caliper components appears to be pressed onto the bolt itself. Original packaging was pretty shredded (as other reviewers have noted), but secondary packaging (bubble wrap bag done by Amazon I'm guessing) was intact. Everything appeared to be present with both kits. The second kit that came looked fine, until I noticed that the caps on the end of both cables already had a thick layer of rust on them right out of the package. Instead of bothering with more wasted time and the apparent crap-shoot of another return and repurchase, I went to the LBS and purchased a cable kit for 500 pennies. The cable I bought there was in white, which better matched my wife's bike anyhow AND it came sans rust. Installation was easy. Mind your tightening though! Once installed, I did notice that there was a lot of flex in the calipers when braking, so I definitely would not recommend anyone use these breaks in any kind of high performance capacity. Leisure riding, these should do fine. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to cheaply retrofit a bike where high-speed or emergency stops are not likely. Pros: -Cheap -Easy to install -Color (most similar products are painted, but the chrome looks nice on a cruiser) Cons: -Low quality hardware -Poor QA/QC (Products should not come out of the package rusted) -Will require slight reshaping of the fenders to work as the pads wear

I installed the front brake with no problem(I worked at a bike shop when I was a kid)However,when I was finishing up the back break the main bolt that conects the brake to the frame snapped.Not only that,the remaining bolt is locked to the frame and the only way for me to remove it is to take a torch to it.I'm not a happy camper.

I like the sunlite brake set. They're durable and they are great for beach cruiser bikes. I always get sets with the longest reach on them because most of the time the tire on some cruisers are a little bigger, almost like balloon tires, and so that makes the rim of the wheel a little farther down. Makes for a longer reach, and these are great. if you're looking for a great set of rims brakes, these Sunlite brakes are just what you need for easy to install rim brakes for a cruiser bike......
