Features

  • MINERAL SPF 30 TINTED SUNCREEN FACE LOTION. Some of us like to go au naturel. Our tinted, zinc-based Mineral sunscreen face lotion glides on like butter and acts as a primer, leaving a matte finish with Broad Spectrum SPF 30 protection.
  • CHEMICAL FREE SUNSCREEN. Our zinc-based Mineral collection was created for your lounging and earth loving pleasure. Lightweight and silky, this Sun Bum collection is sure to leave your skin feeling clean, natural and protected!
  • HOW TO USE. Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply after 80 minutes of swimming or sweating and every 2 hours. Sonnys Tip: A white tint is normal, as this rad screen sits on top of your skin as opposed to absorbing into your skin!
  • PROTECT YOUR SKIN. The key to safe sun is to protect and moisturize your skin. Our Mineral Sunscreen line is enriched with Zinc Oxide, and is Gluten and Cruelty and Free to ensure a fun, clean day in the sun.
  • TRUST THE BUM. What does that mean? It means trust us, the ones who live on the beach and need products that work on the most intense days in the sun. The simple truth is, when you make products to protect the ones you love, you make em better.

  • Obsessed!
I was so sad when someone told me that my go-to Bare Republic sunscreen was being discontinued. I was browsing all the options and saw someone commented that this one was the same texture and I immediately bought it and am so glad I did. I love the slight tint it has - I have olive skin, so I was nervous it would be too light, but it's been perfect. The texture is light and smooth and it feels weightless on! Safe to say this is my new go-to!! ... show more

  • Surprised at how great this one is
I bought 6 different tinted mineral sunscreens to find the one that’s just right for me. Ranging from $10 to $50. I’ve tried them all now and this one is in my top 3 with Tizo and Drmtlgy. It has an amazing texture, it feels great on my skin, and doesn’t have any weird smell. It’s not as expensive as the other two but works better than the other cheaper options. It’s great to have a product that’s not breaking the bank but does a great job protecting my skin and blurring imperfections. ... show more

  • Absorbs well and has a matte finish
This product surprised me! I have been trying various brands of mineral sunscreens and most leave my face feeling very oily, even hours later This tinted sunscreen applies smoothly and absorbs well! Once dried, it leaves a matte finish and gives my face has a “powdery” feel. The tint is light and goes well with my skin tone (fair, warm). I have not tried it with foundation yet and am currently using it for my stay at home, makeup less days. ... show more

  • Feels nice but I ended up going with other products
I loved the feel of the product going on - so silky. I didn’t find it made a lot of difference as far as shine, and unfortunately it seemed to break me out a bit (sensitive skin here). The color worked for my fair skin, although it was slightly on the darker side.

  • Pricey, but I haven’t found anything better for less
I love this sunscreen. I was using Bare Republic’s tinted matt sunscreen but apparently they stopped making their tinted version and the non tinted version left a decent amount of white cast. This ended up being cheaper and the tint blends better. It dries wonderfully. I put it on right after my moisturizer before it has a chance to dry. You can wear it as your foundation for a light coverage, or it works great as a primer for under my mineral powder foundation. I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin and have had no problems with this product at all. I love how light it feels. I do think it’s a bit pricey, but in my experience, I have not found a cheaper mineral sunscreen that feels as good as this on my skin. This is still cheaper than the Bare Republic’s was and I used to use chemical sunscreens the worked and were cheaper but swapped to this while I am pregnant and I am not sure I will go back. ... show more

  • Excellent sunscreen, my favorite
In search for a perfect tinted sunscreen I have tried just about every brand of tinted mineral sunscreen that’s available here on Amazon, so you might recognize me from other reviews. I have a sensitive skin and can’t tolerate chemical sunscreen. I also have red and bumpy skin on my cheeks due to rosacea, so I need a tint to cover redness. I’m really glad I finally decided to give Sunbum tinted sunscreen a try because it quickly became one of my favorites. My other favorite is MD Solar Science BB cream in shade Light. These two are quite similar, both are very silicone like, due to a great amount of dimethicone. They feel like primers and because of that are very sticky and hard to wash off your fingers. But both look very natural and skin like. MD Solar Science (light shade) is slightly darker while Sunbum is pretty pale but not in an unhealthy way. My skin is a bit darker than Sunbum shade right now. Yet it covers my rosacea and evens out my skin tone just enough. It’s not drying but also not shiny, and because of that it doesn’t magnify wrinkles, which is a big plus: I’m tired of tinted sunscreens highlighting the wrinkles I have that are not even noticeable without them. Sunbum is slightly lighter and provides a bit less coverage than MD Solar. It also doesn’t have much zinc, which was a point of criticism from popular bloggers. Because of that it might not be perfect for everyday wear. But if you want to have the most natural “no make up” look and you’re light skinned, this is a great choice on the days when you’re not expecting to be under too much sun. I use retinol on my forehead at night and I didn’t get sunburnt when using this sunscreen. So the only concern here would be the gradually accumulated damage from the long UV-A rays. Another thing I like is that unlike MD Solar, Sunbum doesn’t contain vitamin C and therefore doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. It’s also less expensive. I will keep repurchasing. Note: in the unfiltered photo attached here, you can see the sunscreen after a 5 hour wear, that included eating, touching my face etc, so it’s a bit worn off and the redness on my cheeks is more visible. Even when freshly applied it didn’t cover redness completely because of being light coverage sunscreen. ... show more

  • Light coverage - not sticky
Works well, feels very soft when you apply, didn't break me out - provides light coverage
