9-Inch High Heavy Duty Bed Lifter - Bed Riser - Douglas Fir Solid Core - For 4 x 4 Inch Wide Furniture Leg - Set of Four. Wide base 7.25 x 7.25 inches. These are extremely strong bed lifters. Douglas fir solid core, and strong enough to hold thousands of pounds per bed lifter. Made from a solid grade one 6x6, Douglas fir solid core with trim at the top to create the recessed area for the furniture legs. Base of the bed lifter is very stable, given that the base width is the same as the lift height. Note: A 6x6 true dimension is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. Compression Strength of Douglas fir is 1300 to 1700 pounds per square inch. You can confirm this with an engineer if you wish. Universal design to fit several different bed styles. Great for square or round bed posts and even casters. Ideal for trundle beds. SPECIFICATIONS--- Inside clearance 4.12 inches square (legs of bed should not exceed 4-inch width) Outside width approximately 5.5 Inches. Recessed area height: 0.75 inches. Outside surfaces sanded and smoothed, outside corners are rounded. Base ( bottom of bed lifter ) 7.25 x 7.25 inches width. Note about lift height: Based on engineering guidelines, a column base can be 80% of the height. As such, a 7.25 base can support a 9 inch tall column. If you have questions, it is suggested that you check with a qualified engineer. Material: Douglas fir solid core Douglas fir exterior Photo shows version with / and without dark walnut-color stain Weight: Each lifter weighs about 9 pounds. Construction: All glue construction (we use a few finishing nails to help set the glued pieces). Size of recessed area can be customized to your needs -- for example if your furniture leg is 2 x 4 inches, let us know and we will customize the recessed area to fit your furniture legs.
