    • Finally the Perfect Tall Boot for thin calves!

I Love almost everything about this boot: It's the shape of my foot-doesn't go narrow in the toes or too wide, it doesn't look ridiculously bulky on my calves, fits perfectly in leggings or skinny jeans, they are fine/thin very soft leather & I don't know if it would be considered suede because it's not shiney, maybe treated leather. They are relatively soft like lambskin but not quite that high of quality, still beautiful. I love the detailing-not too much & not totally plain (the subtle buckle, slightly distressed toe, & the gold accent on the heel is perfect.) comfortable but still feminine, easy to walk/stand in. These boots are really beautiful, and great for the price point. They are a staple that's dressed up some and still relaxed. It's so hard to find boots that aren't baggy in the calf or have pointy toes & high heels unless I go for motorcycle looking boots. These are perfect. I get compliments every time I wear them. Sizing: I tried the brown on in a store & they fit in my size 8 (almost small but good) so we ordered the black. The black were for sure 1/2 size small in every pair I tried. Small meaning short lengthwise, not a narrow issue that would stretch. Now they are on sale so I ended up with a brown 8 & black 8.5 & they fit great. If others are saying to size up 1/2 also, may be the best bet. Boots aren't wearable through the day when too short. The width in both are perfect-medium toe box, slightly more fitted over the top of the arch. Enjoy! ... show more

I’m a true 61/2 but those boots could barely get on.. returning for a bigger size..they run smaller and actual size .. I was disappointed but I love the boots so much I’ll return for a size 7

    • Great boots, but tricky sizing
I'm 5'4'', 120 lbs, and have wide feet, which normally makes finding boots a little challenging. Based on the reviews I knew that these boots ran small, but I had a hard time telling by how much. I normally wear a 7.5-8, so I ordered a size 8 on another site and decided to see how they fit. The boots were really beautiful in person, but way too tight. I wasn't sure if I needed an 8.5 or a 9, but since the 9 was significantly cheaper on amazon at the time I ordered them. The 9 is a little too big in the foot, but a good fit in the leg (I could zip the 8 up, but it was tight with jeans tucked in), so I decided to keep them . . . Cute to look at but weird fit, lately Steve Madden boots seem to either run too big or too small, compared to their previous more consistent sizing. I’ve bought 2 pairs of Steve Madden boots in the last month, one runs small one runs large compared to their old styles which if you were a size whatever you pretty much knew you’d be able to order and wear that size. For example, the ashwood boots I got are a size 6.5 but fit like a 7 maybe 7.5 because the heel constantly slips around, whereas these boots fit like a 5.5 to 6 in terms of being able to get them on and off. I got an amazing deal on these boots with Amazon's black friday boot sale, so they were much cheaper than the retail price. These boots have been a winter necessity during these frigid temperatures in the northeast. Worn with warm/thick socks, they're very warm. I don't have to worry about them fitting over my legs when I wear thick winter socks over my jeans or double up on socks; because they're slouched at the ankle and the leather isn't stiff at all, they always fit perfectly. Plus, they have a small, unnoticeable expandable area at the top in case you need some extra room. They also have a nice lining on the inside. Another great feature is an inside seam that allows the boots to fold naturally, saving space when necessary. The leather is very soft, and, when treated with weatherproofing spray, easy to clean as well. These boots are high-quality, subtle, comfortable, and take no breaking in. I'm usually a 7.5 but ordered an 8, and they fit perfectly. They will definitely last me another winter, if not several more. ... show more
