  • Worth it
Amazing helmet attachment for both safety and looks. Bright, makes no noise when riding. ONLY issue is if you have a bike the vibrates a lot the magnet does let the light, shift and water got in mine and the adhesive didn’t hold anymore. ONLY ISSUE

  • Human 3rd Brake Light! LOL!
Okay, I actually only have one light on the rear of my motorcycle, so I guess with would be properly declared as a "2nd" light (LOL). This item installs in minutes and works as advertised. Instructions are clear and there is a template to help center the device on your helmet. Adhesive holds the magnet on very securely and the magnet is super strong to hold the light on. I recommend cleaning the helmet area with alcohol to ensure strong adhesion. The light can be removed with some force without upsetting the magnet. I installed this in about 10 minutes and went out to test it at night with an observer. The observer stated every time I hit my brakes, the helmet light came on within a second or two. I did this several times going up the street and was told it worked each time. The light is very bright and can be seen at far distances. There are different colors/combinations (red, blue, orange, rainbow) to choose and various lighting patterns. You may want to check with your local ordinances on colors and some of the flashing patterns, since some of these can mimic emergency or police vehicles which may get you in trouble. The battery lasts a long time and there is an indicator that lights up the lights in a row to let you know the charge level when charging. Charging is via USB and the cord is provided. This unit will shut off to save the battery if no movement is sensed for a period of time. Overall, I think this is a nice safety device and it works very well. The unit is very sturdy and appears to be of very high quality all around. I recommend it. ... show more

  • Made me feel a little safer!
I bought this a few weeks ago to increase my visibility from the rear. Riders behind me report it isn't very visible during the day, particularly in bright sunlight, but at night it's very bright. Not long after I bought it, I got caught in a bad thunderstorm - torrential downpour, lightning, thunder, wind. I noticed that cars behind me tended to keep their distance, and my husband, who was riding behind me at one point, said the light was very bright in the half-twilight. Also, in the downpour, the device proved it is waterproof! Though I tend to turn it on before I put the helmet on, if needed I can reach the on/off button with my right hand. Edit/Update: I got my helmet out of storage for spring riding and find that the adhesive is breaking down and not holding the light firmly to the helmet any more. I'm going to do what other reviewers have suggested and reinforce it with a command strip. ... show more

  • 2021 Ninja 400 + HJC helmet, quick, easy install, works perfectly
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: I removed the sticky tape used on the helmet mount and replaced it with two layers of silicone double sided sticky tape. This pushed the helmet mount further from the helmet slightly and allowed the light to attach securely. I've ridden many rides and have never had it fall off. The YouTube video for installation of the ECU is not terribly helpful, except in a general sense. For the Kawasaki Ninja 400, all the wiring you need to access is under the rider and passenger seats. I accessed the grouped GND under the rider seat and used the included electrical probe (nice touch) to find the ACCessory pin on a 6-pin plug that had its own cover (note: this pin is off when the bike is off and on when the bike is on). The right and left signal wires are under the passenger seat and the brake light line is the blue/middle wire on the brake cable, which couples between the two seats. The splices go quickly and, with patience and testing, everything can be installed the first time. ACC and GND: pass those wires through the rubber wiring tube that runs from the passenger seat to the rider seat, then connect them. For those who don't know how to use the probe: connect the alligator clip to the ground on the battery and the banana plug in to the handle of the probe. When you touch various pins on the connectors, the little blue light in the probe handle with turn on (blue in my case). If you, for example, turn on a blinker and touch the correct pin, the handle will blink. You don't have to disconnect ANYTHING from the wiring harnesses to test. The pins have bits of metal exposed while they are in their connectors and can be tested that way. IMPORTANT: you can change the colors and sweep pattern by turning the device on, and then pressing the on/off button. Each time you press it, it will cycle through colors/sweep patterns. There are colors that don’t have blue, making this perfectly legal anywhere. ... show more

  • People see you!
If you are looking for something that makes you more visible when on the road, then this this a great item. Although this does not display turn signals, it does change to a brake light when stopping. It gives you more visibility to the drivers behind you and gets their attention quickly. The light has a variety of patterns that can be displayed, so you can chose what you want to use. It has a long lasting battery and charges quickly. The price is also reasonable. When we ride 2 up, my wife wears the light on her helmet. When i ride single, I attach the light to my helmet. It can be easily swapped between helmets if you buy the iron sheet and attach it to your helmet. You won't be disappointed. ... show more

  • Light looks great when turned on, but doesn't work well
I purchased the Steelmate H3 light and placed it on my helmet. When I turned the light on, it looked beautiful and was highly visible even during daylight hours. I had the control box professionally installed at the dealership I purchased my motorcycle from. The light works great when it is within 2 to 3 inches from the control box, but once you move it pass that point, the light doesn't function properly. I reached out to the company, but you can only contact Steelmate via email, and the support person that assisted me was absolutely no help, and my light is still not functioning properly. Now my light light only makes for aa great conversation piece, but does not help me for the purpose of what I purchased the light for. ... show more
