I love these shoes and have had them for some time now and they are holding up to my abuse of shoes. A little pricey but look nice, comfortable to wear all day, fit to size, and the color is perfect for a boat shoe.

As mentioned in a separate review, there is a known quality issue with the light brown/white bottom shoes. I too had the sole break/rip from the stitching after just a few times wearing. Shoes would be great if they lasted longer - no reason a shoe should break so quickly. This is a known issue for Sperry and I am very disappointed in their customer service. I submitted a "defect form" online - they agreed it was a quality issue and gave me a credit to reorder the shoes. All great so far. Once I placed the order, it cancelled due to low inventory and then they coincidentally switched support providers who have no records of this issue. I asked them to send shoes or reissue credit and they have not been able to provide any support. Would not recommend these shoes or Sperry in general based on this interaction.

Just got mine today & they look authentic. did a lot of research so will try to put everything I looked for in this review. 1st: the fit: it's pretty common knowledge to order half a size down, I usually wear 11 & ordered these in 10.5, they fit great, the leather will stretch with time so it's probably a good idea to order half a size down. 2nd: authenticity: They look original to me, checked everything, a good surprise is that these were made in Dominican republic & not in China. I bought them through Amazon and the color is Sahara. the quality should be the same regardless of where they're manufactured but we all know that isn't always the case, so that was pretty good. 3rd: QUALITY: MOST IMPORTANT PART: obviously it's still the 1st day so can't comment on longevity but the sperry quality is fabulous and these look pretty much the real deal, the only thing is that I'm a niptick type of guy and I examined these thoroughly since they're an internet buy. the stitching on one of the soles was subpar, and while you can't actually see it while worn, you'd expect better. the left tongue was damaged and scratched by being pressed by the laces, while it's not a very big deal as well, again, with this brand and price you'd expect better. 4th:Color: got the Sahara since it's the most popular. Something noteworthy is that I thought Sahara and nutmeg are the same thing since I couldn't find the 2 colors in the same store at the same time & figured it must be 2 names for the same thing, apparently sahara is darker, I eventually saw both at Macy's, the 10.5 size at Macy's was a bit more roomy as well btw, not 100% sure, but I think so. BOTTOM LINE: You know what to expect with buying a top sider, it IS the real deal if you're afraid, I'm just not 100% sure if these are considered an outlet version with very minor defects or if that even the ones on the original website have these sometimes. if you're buying some odd color with a bargain price here, go ahead and buy it, if you're buying one of the main colors (Sahara,Tan,etc) like I did with the same price as Macy's and Sperry's website for 95$ then I'd probably buy them from an actual store next time, but if you don't want the hassle then you can go ahead, I'll try these for the day but I'll probably ened up keeping and enjoying these. I won't be able to give a fully detailed review because I just picked this shoe up about two hours ago. This will be more of a first impressions review. I've wanted to get Sperrys for a while now because a huge percentage of my friends have them, I just never got around to it. This weekend I was waiting in the shoe section for someone so I tried on some Sperrys. I liked the way they looked, so I decided to go ahead and order some a few days ago. I debated for two days between the Sahara and Oatmeal color. I ended up getting the Sahara, and I could not be more pleased with the color. I was hesitant about getting it because of the Amazon picture, which is misleading. In the picture the color looks like a reddish dark brown, but in reality they are a more tan version of the Oatmeal, or a light brown, which is exactly the color I wanted. I also ordered them a half size below my usual shoe size because that was the overwhelming suggestion in what I had heard about Sperrys. People said they stretch out when you break them in, so it is recommended to get them in a smaller size than your usual size. After I got them, I tried them on and walked around for a bit and they were pretty comfortable. They will need some breaking in, but for day one they were pretty good. Also, I was pleased with how they look because I was wearing some stupid looking pants today for a Halloween prank and even on those the shoes looked pretty good so they must look nice when worn with normal pants. The best part about these shoes is that you can wear them with pretty much anything and they will look nice. I have seen my friends wearing them with jeans or khakis and they look good. They are casual enough that you can slip them on with some jeans or shorts, but not so casual that you can't wear them khakis. My friends also wear them with khakis and they look good on those too. Overall, these shoes look good and from what I can tell, they are comfortable so far. As for whether they are worth the price tag (usually around $80 I think, mine were $75), that just varies from person to person. In my case I had a bunch of Amazon money from gift cards I've gotten, so it wasn't a big deal. Also, I really like the way they look so in my opinion my purchase was worth it. For a pair of shoes $80 is fairly expensive, so I cannot give a definite yes or no answer as to whether or not they are worth it. If you are looking for comfortable shoes that can go with many different types of clothing, definitely consider these shoes.
