This is my fifth pair of topsides and they have always given good service. Usually I buy the standard deck shoes. This time I sought a higher quality Sperry Men's Mako 2-Eye Boat Shoe. These are excellent all leather, amaretto color, non marking gum rubber soles with a 3/8th heel. For the right foot only, it took two weeks to break in the back where it rubs against my heel. The tensioner on the right shoe was dislodged when I opened the package. I save for that minor mishap, I expect there would have been no discomfort at all. I will be buying this model from now own. (I do use pedag viva sport 45 sport arch support inserts.) ... show more

I've only been wearing these shoes for about a week now, but so far I really like them. Sperry usually runs narrow in my experience and so I got the 12 W vs the 12 Reg and I have to admit that these are a little loose on my feet. I'm use to the "loafer" style of shoe and so these make me feel right at home. I'll update on durability if I encounter any issues. I should also disclose that the primary use of these shoes is for work and I do have a desk job. So, that being said, I'm probably not the best person to ask about overall comfort long term. Received these in a plastic bag (see the attached photo). Either they are counterfeit, used, or damaged. Didn't open the bag and am returning these. If they don't come in the original box, as far as I'm concerned, they are not "new".
