Pics: 1- Shoes in natural light, you can't see the red at all. 2- Damage to my right foot from wearing the shoe for a few hours in 2023. 3- The shoes 2 years later in 2025, you can see the red in this light. Pros: Look good, comfortable enough. Can dress up or down. Very durable as I've had them two years and they are doing great (though, they also are very slow to break in....) Cons: These seem too tight near the toes - or at least on mine the right one is always pressing in against the base of my big toe. Picture 2 shows that it actually cut in to my foot to the point of blood after wearing a few hours. 2 years later it's broken in enough that it only leaves my foot a little red there after hours. The shoes fit fine and are easy to take on and off so it's not like I bought them too small. Plus my left foot is perfectly fine (I'm assuming my feet are slightly different sizes, not the shoes) Things to consider: I really liked the shoes having a slightly red color to them, unfortunately that color is almost completely missing from the actual product. You can see it in perfect lighting and that's about it. In my picture with more natural light you can't see the color at all, but the yellowish light lets you see it. Ultimately I like these shoes and would buy them again if they ever wore out... I'd just order a larger size. ... show more

I’ve always wanted a pair of top siders. I’ve been wearing a lot of moc-toe loafers and boots, but I didn’t have anything casual enough to wear with shorts and still look put together enough for a nice dinner. Pro’s: The toe box is nice and wide, toes. Lace system goes all the way around the back. It’s a true moccasin construction, stitched through to the sole. Very comfortable. More casual than a loafer, more formal than a sneaker. Very lightweight. A great value at $100. Cons: The sole is of course pretty thin, and I don’t know how comfortable these would be if you had to stand around all day in them. The insole, while contoured is a little thin and flimsy. I’d like to put my own insole in these, but It’s glued in. I’m. Sure they should pull out easy enough. I’m guessing they do that to keep the insole from shifting around. All in all, I’m going to stick with my 5, because I knew what they are when I ordered them, and they exceeded my expectations at $100. A very versatile, and comfortable preppy classic. ... show more

I bought a pair of Sperry men’s Authentic Original 2-Eye Boat Shoes in amaretto color through Amazon in late June. I have since worn them less than a dozen times. They still look brand new. I went to put them on the other day and noticed the toe stitching had failed and that the soul is both cracked and separated on the left shoe. Unfortunately, Amazons return policy is limited to 60 day for shoes. So, I attempted a warranty claim directly through Sperry. Sperry’s website states: “ Through our iconic silhouettes, we take great pride in offering our customers products made with attention to detail and unique craftsmanship, and have the upmost respect for all of our partners, associates, and, of course, you the consumer. What is considered a defective product? Sole, separation, stitching coming undone, leather, bunching, or discoloration, toe or soul detachment. If your footwear is defective within twelve (12) months of the date of purchase, we will make it right. Products purchased from other retailers, including department stores should be returned to the store from which it was originally purchased and will be subject to their warranty policy”. Sperry will not honor this warranty because they were sold through Amazon. DO NOT PURCHASE SPERRY PRODUCTS THROUGH AMAZON! This is just another example of a formally great company with bulletproof products (I currently have two other pair of Sperry boat shoes in different colors and iterations that I’ve had for years) finding a loophole to screw consumers and avoid having to replace a now inferior and cheap product line. ... show more
