He does use them outside of class but we don't go to the pool often. These are perfect for his long lashes. His lashes would always get stuck on the lens with the other brands we tried (frogglez was one of them) and he would constantly have to fix them. These goggles solved that problem. Previously we have had good luck with speedo goggles, but we must have gotten into a bad batch. We bought 2 pairs, at the same time for my 2 boys and they both broke within a week of each other. These fit my small 5 yr old perfect. No leaks. After 6 weeks of him wearing them about twice a week, they broke at the nose piece. I always put them on him, they were never thrown around. No reason for them to break.

    • Warning: Don't change the Nose Piece!

These are a great fit & good quality. I liked that they offer 3 sizes for the nose piece to achieve the best fit. My daughter's eyes are set a bit wide, so I expected this to be useful. When the goggles arrived, as expected, the default nose piece was uncomfortably narrow so I followed instructions to change to a wider size. Impossible!! And incredibly frustrating. With a leap of faith you can force the default nose piece out, (though I was sure I would break or damage it), but putting the new size in was nearly impossible. After many failed attempts I pulled up a YouTube video for help, and even this didn't solve the situation. Eventually after placing it only to have it fall off multiple times, I grabbed a plier and decided it was worth risking to break the whole thing because otherwise to goggles were unusable. Managed to get the wider nose piece in and sent my daughter off to camp convinced it would fall out and she'd throw them away immediately. Incredibly they came home with her without falling apart. But overall, absolutely NOT worth the frustration and lack of faith in the product. BOTTOM LINE: if you don't need to change the nose piece these are a good fitting, good quality goggle with great color selections. OTHERWISE, for narrow or wide faces, don't bother. I expect a lot more from a brand like SPEEDO. I would never imagine them to release a product that claims to have interchangeable nose pieces which you need a plier and a YouTube video to make it work.
