  • Love the Upgrade!
Color: Chrome Housing Clear Lens
Overall, I love the look of these headlights over my stock ones! I read the reviews here before buying, and there was some helpful information I read that I will pass on from installing these myself. I am not a professional tech or mechanic, but I was able to install. There are written installation instructions included, but I found that the YouTube installation video most helpful. The box has 2 extra wires that are not covered in the written instructions. But you’ll need to attach them to headlights or the light signals blink uncontrollably. Also, if you have stock HID headlights, there is a YouTube video from @FlukedRacing explaining how to install your stock ballast and he also shows how to install the 2 extra wires to the headlights. Lastly, I rated this 4-stars because although it was a “fit” for my 2006 Lexus, it wasn’t an exact fit. Like others mentioned also. The headlight seal was a little off on one of the headlights: they both fit in, but one sticks out slightly and the other has a little gap from the uneven headlight seal. But so far, I am enjoying them overall. ... show more

  • Do NOT Switch From Halogen to HID.
Color: Chrome Housing Clear Lens
I recommend you DO NOT buy these -- you are wasting your money. The most important thing you need to know is that this headlight assembly has HID bulbs and the HID mounting system is not what your Lexus engine compartment is designed for. This is a relatively large V6 engine in a very small space. In short, replacing the HID bulbs in these is an ABSOLUTE pig, requiring quite literally hours of time, due to having very little space immediately behind the headlight assembly. Ironically installing the assemblies took less time than replacing the four primary bulbs a few months later. So only 1 star for "Easy to Install", because ease of replacing headlight bulbs is a pretty critical install consideration. The factory assembly accounts for this lack of space in the design of both the assembly and bulb-mount. Replacing a factory bulb is relatively simple matter of (a) remove the dust cover, (b) twist the socket and pull out from assemble, (c) replace bulb, (d) reinsert and twist to lock, and (e) replace dust cover. This bulb-clamp mount has fiddly wire-spring brackets inside the assembly which lock the bulb in place. They are difficult to reach, difficult to unlock, and damn near impossible to relock while holding the bulb in place, especially the two outside low-beam bulbs. If you are replacing with LED bulbs that remounting ordeal is an order of magnitude more difficult since the heatsink interferes with the wire-spring bracket. And I have small fingers for a guy; my father wouldn't have been able to get both hands in there. Even worse, the wire-spring bracket is not actually attached to the assembly, so if you are not careful it will fall off into the assembly entirely and out of reach. Even worse than _that_, there is a washer which is necessary and which can easily be lost into the assembly when removing the bulb. Even if you _are_ very careful, the bracket will simply keep dislodging from the top hooks while you are trying to get the bulbs in place and lock it down. In my case, replacing all four lamps with LEDs and never having done it before, it took: about an hour to get the existing bulbs out (trying not to lose either the bracket or the washer after losing the first washer and bracket, and still losing the second washer anyway); about 90 minutes of fishing around with a magnet to retrieve the lost bracket/washers; about an hour to remove and remount the air-intake assembly on the passenger side to buy a little more space (alas there was no way to easily get more space on the driver's side without removing the entire electrical assembly); and about 3 hours total to get the four bulbs mounted, not including short breaks to catch my breath, to consider removing the headlights entirely, to vent and scream, to contemplate both murder and suicide, and to roundly and soundly curse the inventor of the HID bulb mount and the manufacturer of this assembly. Pro-tip; do not attempt this without having a retractable pen-magnet on hand -- it's still a lot faster than removing the entire assembly to turn it upside down. When one of the LEDs fail, I will replace both assemblies with factory parts, and replace all four bulbs with new LEDs. If I knew all this in advance I would never have bought this (or any other HID product). On to the assemblies themselves... They look nice and fit fairly well. There is a small gap especially along the top and outside edges, but you have to look close to notice it. The LED strip does look very nice and I love the indicator white/yellow flashing. The bulbs that come with the assembly are far too dim. Driving on the freeway at night, at 70 MPH, is borderline dangerous, especially in the rain. The LED strip is in addition to, not a replacement of, the high-beam DRL, meaning that with LED bulbs fitted the high-beam the DRLs will flicker (I use the On setting instead of Auto, which has headlights on full time, and automatically turns them off a few minutes after stopping the engine -- not ideal, but tolerable). That's a shame because the LED strips would make perfect DRLs. While replacing the bulbs _without_ using anything close to excessive force, both high-beam reflectors partially disconnected from the bottom of the main housing leaving my high-beams slightly askew and low but still serviceable. Very flimsy indeed. After a few months, I notice there are tiny "spider-vein" cracks in the plastic. Edit 2022-07-16: Several of the lights in the LED strip, both white and yellow have failed on each side, and cannot be replaced. So pretty much garbage in the longevity department as well. I don't drive much, being a telecommuter, so this doesn't equate to very many hours of on-time either. ... show more
