I bought the medium and when I took them out of the bag I was worried they were going to be way to small. I put them in and instantly fell in love! I’m 5’2” and they’re a tad long but even if they’re slightly bunched they still look great!

I purchased the Spanx faux leather legging in M from their website and upon trying it, I decided I could probably go with a S. Instead of ordering again from their website, i decided to buy the S off Amazon with next day delivery and see if the fit was good. Well, after having both leggings side to side, I cam tell that this one from Amazon is NOT at all the same as the original- first, is from Spanx ‘Asset’ line which is a lower quality/more affordable line BUT the price point of the legging here is the same as the original. The material are also way different, this Asset one from Amazon is rubbery and very uncomfortable compared with the lighter softer material of the original one. You can see from the photos how the stitching is also different on both. Needless to say, I am returning the Amazon one. They should be transparent about it being the Assets version of the legging AND the price should reflect that!

A bit on the small side. I ordered a medium (every single pair of leggings I've owned for the last 10 years has been medium), and I couldn't get them past my knees/lower thighs. I traded in for a large and the large fits like a tight medium, which is good for spanx! I am really happy with them, they look so flattering, they're fitted without flattening the goods, they're solid - no seeing underwear through them, and really versatile - can pair with a blazer and a work top and classy heals, or a cute crop top and vans. A friend of mine has some and wears them super often so she sold me on them!

For size reference, I am 5'6" 139 lbs & the Medium fit perfect. I was at 187 lbs & the XL fit fantastic. I love these leggings & cannot say enough good things about them. I have never worn Spanx before but wanted the Leather look. Don't need the tummy control. With that being said, you do have to work them up your legs (kinda like panty hose), but that's only to get them on & completely off. You can dress them up with heels or go low key casual with a t-shirt & some slip on kicks. I get multiple comments every time I wear them.

No doubt, these leggings look nice. The finish on them especially does. I am happy with them but there are a few things I don't like. Do they squish all your fat in and make you look thinner? Well...they DO squish all your fat. WHERE they squish it is a point of contention. For some body parts (and maybe this is different for other people), like legs, they squish but the fat has nowhere to go. I mean, it can't be squished into my ankles. So they apply lots of pressure and this isn't the most comfortable. (But then, who buys Spanx and expects them to be comfortable?!?!) Where this is a problem is the stomach area. The squishing results in pressurized and encapsulated belly fat. I suppose it is a plus that when it is under pressure and isolated it can't jiggle around as much. But I am not so convinced it's a big improvement in my shape if my hip fat has been redistributed to my belly, which now looks rounder than ever because the top of the leggings are super tight. Super tight = smaller. But in my case, being smaller around the ribs meant my stomach looked bigger. No, no, Spanx are not for being comfortable. But they do need to do their job and do it in a way that is tolerable. Meaning, you can still breathe enough to survive. In these, at first I feel okay. Then I realize that sitting down, where I need to bend at the waist, is going to be kind of difficult. Oh, and when you do have to bend, your fat will now be constricted into rolls. The leggings are tolerable, but definitely not for all-day wear. Like others have said, the top does start rolling down, and there's no way you can adjust without excusing yourself to the bathroom. Then you will pull and wiggle and dance until you've got the top back up where it belongs. Repeat 1-2 times per hour. The leggings are well made and are good quality. They look good, but they are only practical for wearing for short periods. Ones with a bathroom freely available. Sadly, most of my outfit occasions do not fit these requirements, so these have become $100 closet decorations.
