This did help with transfers for a loved one which has a hard time getting into the vehicle. Just sit down and it turns nicely. Depending on the weight of the person I believe bc if it goes way down into the eat cushion I don't feel it would move as smoothly. Mine did but our loved one only weighs less than 100 pounds

My father received this as a gift. It was very comfortable and swiveled well. After a while, the non-skid surface on the bottom wears out and doesn’t work well anymore. But the worst part is if the cushion happens to fall from the chair and lands the wrong way, the metal spindle around which the cushion spins will break, making the cushion come apart from the base. I thought this was a fluke so I purchased a replacement cushion, but not even a year later, it broke in the same way again. You figure if it’s metal, it wouldn’t do that, but it’s happened to me twice. Not buying this again.

Plus: it would be better if my car seat was less curved, but it does make it easier to get my arthritic body in and out of the car. Minus: the two pieces came apart after less than a week of use. It still works, I just have to put the pieces together before I get in. Eventually I will get some glue and glue the two pieces back together.

I have arthritis…the cushion stays put in the driver’s seat, doesn’t slide around, AND it really does make it loads easier for me to get out of the driver’s seat without a struggle. My previous cushion was firm and “cushiony” once I sat on it in my car/driver’s seat. However, getting out of my car, it slid/would come off the seat/fall to the ground sometimes—very annoying. My new cushion felt hard to sit on at first, but I’m getting used to it after 2 weeks, and it’s actually quite comfortable when I have a full day’s schedule of car errands. This cushion is working for me.

I got this cushion because I sit at a workbench all day doing homework. I have a short, very cheap stool that I use, and every time I got up from it, I was hobbling around for a few minutes because of the back, hip and knee pain I was experiencing. I have a connective tissue disorder and have a lot of joint pain, so I really wanted something that would at least make sitting for 3 straight hours bearable. This cushion exceeded my expectations. I'm no longer experiencing *any* pain when I stand up. I thought the swivel function would be annoying, but honestly it's been a life saver. The grippy stuff on the bottom is quite grippy, it never moves on its own when I'm sitting down or standing up. It doesnt seem like its going to be all that comfortable at first, but it really does save my hips and back from all that stiffness and pain. I'm not sure how this would do in a car like it's intended function, but I adore this cushion for a indoor stool! Worth every penny.

UPDATE 12/1/2025 - Returning this item. Only the swivel seems to work OK. Cushion worked itself off of the swivel frame in just two sittings. Fastened with poorly adhesive and poorly applied adhesive. Cover slips off of the cushion. Just poor quality. Dropped to 2 stars. ORIGINAL REVIEW - This will fit between 'bucket' seats if not to tight between the 'wings'. If your seat is more level, it will work more reliably without fooling with positioning it every time you get in the car. HOWEVER, if your seat slopes front to back, it will have a tendency to slip to the back of the seat. If the swivel cushion slips to the back, its edge will rub on the seat back AND/OR inhibit free swiveling. Overall, seems sturdy. The hard bottom frame of the cushion came with a flimsy 'non-slip' grip, but this is weakly attached with soft foam glued to the bottom frame and it's easily separated. I'll keep it this swivel cushion, but will install some kitchen cabinet non-slip liner to replace what came with.
