I really like these snowshoes! I am concerned about the bindings tho. Being made of nylon (plastic) I'm not sure how well they will hold up. The heel strap isn't the best as it isn't a ratchet strap and doesn't always stay hooked.

I love these snowshoes Especially for the price point. The straps are easy to use and stay put once they're on. The crampons have good grip. Light weight so you don’t get wore out walking in them. only 2 trips out with them so far and holding up great.

Just got our first snow and took these hiking to try them out. They fit comfortably and seem sturdy and durable. They are light enough to not tire out. They had good grip and the binding clips are smooth. Overall great snowshoes.

I like snowshoeing, and honestly in my youth I've used wooden snowshoes. This was more a result of the technology at the time rather than anything else. When aluminum shoe design kicked into high gear, I found quite a few advantages. For these shoes, I opted for a kids version since I already have a pair I'm rather very fond of. This set....works. Main thing here is to mind the weight limits as well as the kind of terrain you're going to be trekking. I've found that these are really very good general purpose shoes. They aren't going to work well for demanding treks, but for Plain Old Use they work very well. Durability is, therefore, on a par with that intended use. They aren't bulletproof but they do stand up to regular use and they look good doing it. Strapping them on is very easy, and there's enough adjustability in the design to help dial in the fit (very important for a kid's shoe, since growth inevitably occurs....). If I had a nit, it would be the strap material itself, but that's easily replaced with any number of aftermarket options. Main thing to remember here is that these are not hundred-dollar shoes. They are what I'd consider to be entry level shoes, something that the user may grow out of (figuratively if not literally) as interest in the pastime matures and such. I think of it as a violin...an inexpensive mass-produced instrument is fine for an introduction, but eventually the musician will want an instrument that is better suited for more serious work. I ordered these in October and here it is January and we still haven't had enough snow to try these out. I have never owned snow shoes before and can't wait to get out there. I will review what I can and if need be will edit my review once I try them out. These shoes look to be very well constructed. My friend who has snow shoed commented that the opening in the toe area is a good feature because if this area were totally closed then snow would collect there adding weight to the shoes. The hole allows the snow to pass through. These snow shoes are very lightweight so I love that they will stay light out on the trail. The straps are made of plastic and cinch down nicely to my boots. Only time will tell how long the plastic will hold out. I like the ability to prop up the heel of your boot when you need to walk up a steep hill. The snow shoes will angle and your feet will stay flat, just like going up stairs. The case is great for storing and transporting your snow shoes. ... show more

If you want to spent a lot more, you can get a lighter weight snow shoe with freer-moving hinge motion, but for most users, this will do everything you want at a much lower price. I'd expect that it's a pretty small percentage of snow shoe users that would find anything wrong with these. They come in a nice bag that fits the shoes well. I would have liked if the shoes came a rubber protector for the aluminum claw. Without this protector, the carrying bag or the shoes themselves may be damaged. I haven't seen this damage yet, but this is a feature that has been included on other shoes I've had. ... show more
