I bought this to avoid having to plug my camera in directly to transfer photos - and for a while it worked flawlessly and I was happy. However, recently it's started acting up. I'll try to transfer a batch of files and sometimes it'll work; more often than not though it will get about 1/2 the way through a transfer and freeze, then "out of memory" error before the device disappears (the light on the front is still on, but no connection). Moving between different USB ports will sometimes get it to come back to life, but it's getting worse. Definitely stay away if you want something that will last more than 3 months.

Was one of the lowest priced readers on Amazon. Arrived quickly. Unit is not too small, but it is compact. The entire unit from 'mouth' to tip of USB cable is about 8". Plugged it into my computer and after a short delay for my computer to install the driver, the reader was ready for use with no other action required from me. The USB3 seemed to work pretty fast - But I had nothing to compare it to. The card reader doesn't feel cheap or fragile - BUT the card hangs up a little as it comes out because there is a gap just inside the 'mouth' and it grabs the card and can make it fiddly to remove. So far it is only an inconvenience and a worry. I'm happy enough, would buy again if I needed a 2nd unit, but NOT if this one failed - LOL.

Sent complaint to seller and received no response in 3 days. Would not read my XQD card in MacBookPro or iMac. It did not register in Finder. Returned item.

The device is great, works nicely, is fast. The only real complaint is that it doesn't eject the card as well as the more expensive brands. Even with that, it's an excellent cheap choice if you want something to keep in your bags on the go.

Do not buy!!! This thing has never worked. I’ve tried it on my computer, my work computer and my wife’s computer. Nothing ever even flashed on my computer . It’s nice and small but not worth the money.

This is my first and only XQD card reader and I’m very impressed. For the price I would say it’s a must have for people on a budget. It’s made of lightweight plastic but as long as you don’t abuse it, it shouldn’t be a problem.
