The media could not be loaded. I purchased this lid for a buddy’s bass boat as part of an overhaul. We built a custom tackle storage box that needed a lid, and this one was a perfect fit. It was easy to install, and since it’s top-mounted, we needed something sturdy enough to withstand weight as it would be stepped on to access the front of the boat. After about a year of use, it’s held up great. While we would’ve preferred a flush-mounted lid, at this price point, we couldn’t find one, so the slight raised height hasn’t been a problem—it’s not enough to be a tripping hazard. Installation was straightforward: just drop it into place, mark the holes, drill, and secure it with stainless steel screws. Some reviews mention issues with the plastic latches breaking, which could happen if you’re not careful, so just be aware that might be a potential weak spot. But considering the price, I think it’s a great value. The opening is about the same size as the lid itself, and while I couldn’t find a photo with it open, several other reviews show it. Overall, it’s a solid, reliable option.

Update: After I wrote the review below, I contacted the seller through Amazon. The seller immediately offered to send me 2 new latches. Can't beat that, except more durable latches would be nice. I used this as a door to the power reel on my RV. One of the latches broke on our first trip. They are plastic what else should I have expected. Very disappointed.
