  • Bed alarn
Works well, however it is slow to alarm soy father can get out of bed before I have a chance to get to bed & I'm always close by in next room in small apartment. Trial & error with placement but once you can find right placement he alarms without false alarm during to movements other than getting out of bed ... show more

  • Peace Maker-getting sleep finally
I almost did not buy this alert system because of the reviews stating to much time delay (2-3 seconds) from getting up and alerting signal caregiver. Thankfully we bought this anyway. There does exist a slight delay (engineered) which helps from sending false alerts throughout the night. This gives us much needed sleep without constant false alert waking us. My mother does not sit up and get out of bed in 2-3 seconds like a normal healthy fit person might during the night to get to the restroom. instead she sits up for just a moment, then starts to pull back coverings. This sends us a pleasant chime (on low) and allows us ample time to look at our video monitor to confirm she is getting up. She can not walk but believes she still can (dementia). We have enough time with this alert system to quickly rise and get to her room. She is always surprised how we know what she is doing during the night. This has actually helped her rest more through the night knowing we will respond if she has a need. This has been a huge blessing because we also can sleep assured that we have an alert system that works. We were on the verge of hiring nigh care giver, but now we have the confidence to manage mom without the fear of falls climbing out of bed at night. Pros: System works well (recommend an additional low light video monitor to aid in decision to get up or not) Battery powered so monitor can move room to room when we start our day but mom is still sleeping. Plus you can buy additional alert pads (wheel chair, etc) and use with same monitor. Cons: Alert signal (chime and light) works on 3 C-batteries just fine, but this package does NOT include the additional 12v AC adapter if you choose not to use batteries. But at least you have that option. ... show more

  • It works
Couldn’t be easier to put together or use. Just got to remember to turn it back on once it goes off. My mother is notorious was trying to get out of bed without calling for help from her caregiver. We tried a bell, she wouldn’t use it, now it’s not up to her. The second my mother raises her head to get up, the alarm goes off. You just have to remember once she goes back to bed, turn it back on. ... show more

  • An Excellent Helper - Thanks
This turned out to be a very wise purchase. With it an individual was able to provide personal care to a frail elderly person who had just had a serious cerebral stroke during the sleep and nap periods. It was like an extra set of hands and eyes. I am thankful for the product. It worked reliably. It only needed to be positioned properly and re-positioned if needed at getting in/out of bed. The individual it was monitoring averaged getting out of bed 4 times per sleep period. The loud tone could be heard while showering. The low tone was sufficient and even without the tone the flashing light sound is enough if it is nearby. ... show more

  • Works great and recommended
Item is exactly as described in details. Works perfectly for our 92 year old mother. It is easy to set up and use. Our best results were placing the mat under her shoulder area. That way the alarm would go off and give us a little extra time to get to her. It can be used in a chair also. The alarm box has 3 volume settings. Each at loud enough to hear pretty good. If you have hearing difficulties or are a heavy sleeper then the highest setting should work for you. The overall construction of the alarm box is very good and so far has worked perfectly. The mat is made of vinyl. So far it's held up okay (it's only been a week or so), but basically anything vinyl can crack or separate at the seams. Overall I am completely satisfied with this product and I do recommend it for everyday home use. ... show more

  • Great product
Purchased the Smart Caregiver wireless remote and bed pad and purchased an additional bed pad. My elderly parents have a caregiver overnight and with the sound of the oxygen machine and the sound of the radio while they sleep, it is hard for the caregiver to hear when they get up to go to the bathroom which is when my parents need assistance. These work perfectly. I have the caregiver pads underneath their mattress pads so they can't feel them at all. The wireless remote works on 3C batteries (included) and has three volume settings. The remote chimes and the red lights flash when either of my parents leave their beds. Buyer Beware: the directions that came with the remote/pad set and the additional pad were different from one another and both directions were vague at best. Had to wait for a weekday to call the customer service number. She led me through the process of activating both pads in just a few minutes. ... show more
