    • Good idea, but slots too shallow
I was attracted to these by the logic in their design. Common sense suggests that these slanted holders should store more implements per square inch of desk space than typical holders. I bought them hoping to tame the variety of pens, pencils, and markers I like to keep close at hand in my kitchen. I did read the description, so I knew these would not be large or tall. Still, I was quite surprised to see exactly how small they are. I think I expected something a bit more substantial for what I paid. They look like bamboo, but they are not “thick, strong and durable.” One whack with a hammer would most likely break them. I agree with another reviewer who thought they photo-shopped an overly optimistic amount of stuff into the slots. (Although this may have been on another brand’s page. I did consider many before buying.) Yes, these containers do hold writing implements on an angle, although rather tenuously. I’d like to see the slots a bit deeper, so that more than half the implement’s length is in the slot. Only time will tell how well they stay put. My guess is that they won’t, but to be fair, I must report that I set mine on a kitchen counter near my small kitchen desk. This area frequently serves as a drop zone for miscellaneous stuff, which may cause the contents to fall out, thereby making more regular work for me! Maybe I’ll try them with backs to the counter, which may help the fallout issue. We’ll see, and I will try to remember an update after some practical use experience, if I decide to keep them. I do like the idea of these, but I can’t decide whether to keep or return. They aren’t any better than my previous containers, so they don’t really meet my current spending test: do they make my life easier? Not if I end up re-loading them repeatedly because the slots are too shallow. If you have less clutter encroaching on your chosen location, you may not mind the cost, especially if this is your first attempt to organize writing implements. You’ll get your money’s worth over time. I was a stay-at-home Mom, so I always “made do” with whatever we already had on hand when my kids were small. Now I wish I’d been more like my daughter, who doesn’t hesitate to buy special use organizing and storage units that will last for the rest of her life. I love this product! So super cute!!! Nice and strong material! Great color! Very easy to assemble!!! Comes with it's own cute tiny tools! (Love!) Great value for the price! Stores a ton of stuff!!!I bought 3 because I thought I had so much stuff but it's not even half full!!! (Yet lol) love the little drawer. Only suggestion I would have for the makers is that the open space in the back is a bit too large. Regular size pencils slip right through. Super easy fix with a little piece of tape in the back but it would be nice if it was already nice and snug to make it easier to use. Also the material is staticy so if you assemble it on the carpet it will cling all dust and hair to it. No problem to clean at all! ... show more

I can't believe how easy this was to put together, or how stable it is. It's absolutely perfect for what I need and for how little space I had. I fit three coffee mugs packed with pens and pencils into this with room to spare. It comes with directions in Chinese only, but it was extremely easy to figure out via pictures. It also comes with little screws and a screwdriver. I feel like if I didn't use the screws it would still stay together really well. It took me about ten minutes or less to do the whole thing including screws. Just a heads up, the diagonal shelves don't go all the way to the back panel. I think this is because it helps give the pens something to "hold on to." I have only had one pen slide down when I was first loading it up. Hasn't happened since! ... show more

So when I purchased I must not have seen where I would have to assemble it. It basically came in puzzle pieces and the instructions were in not in English but the pictures were easy enough to follow. I expected this container to be bigger and be made out of wood. But it’s like some very durable styrofoam. Not what I expected but I like it. It was annoying to assemble - I have carpal tunnel syndrome (both kinds) and arthritis. It feels gross to the touch, I knew it was cheap but this is bottom of the barrel mdf.

Inexpensive solution to desk clutter and space saver. I would expect to secure them somehow to make them more stable. I simply used a document clip and bound them together. A bit of double sided sticky tape would work well too.

I thought I would use these for pens, but I actually love storing my chargers and those wires in them. Though some spaces are used for pens. Works great for where I wanted them. They were smaller than I had imagined
