There is a button you press on the strap to make these light up. I thought I had a defective pair. Once I read other reviews I pushed the button and both shoes lit up. Nowhere on the box. I almost sent back.

Our granddaughter, age 6, fell in love with these shoes and had to have them. She was not disappointed. From the moment they arrived, she has been inseparable, almost to the point of wearing them to bed! Seem to be of good quality and fit well. Recommend.
