  • Nice, comfortable business casual shoe
Size: 12 Color: Black
This is my second pair of these shoes. I replaced my 11 year old pair just because they were too scuffed. Inside and tread was still great. I found theses shoes wear a long time.

  • Every year I buy a pair
Size: 12 Color: Brown
Buy a new pair for everyday. Use the old pair for work. Wear year round in Vermont and Florida. I have two brown pairs. I have a black pair to match my black pants for wear. I love these and buy new pair every year. I need the extra support of tie shoe that’s extra sturdy. No foot or ankle pain like the old days. ... show more

  • Good shoe, color wasnt what I expceted.
Size: 8.5 Color: Brown
I like these as a multi-purpose shoe. They are sort of like a hiker/work shoe, but a lot more comfortable. The size was perfect. Most Sketchers for me, fit true to size with one exception, but that was a different style, and reviewed to show slightly tight. One thing I don't like, is I thought these were a brown color, and the picture shows it a lighter brown then they really are. These are a very dark brown, almost light black. They look very close to a very dark grey/black when I wear them, I was looking for more of a rustic brown. The only other thing to know is, these are a much stiffer, or maybe "harder" outer material then a lot of their other shoes which are usually softer. I worry that the outer material might crack and crease as I wear them and they get broken in where my feet and toes bend in the shoe. Stiffer sort of like a work boot, but work boots leather will usually soften up and flex better, I'm not sure the leather will soften up as it breaks in. So maybe a good light duty, kind of work shoe. Other then that, I like them, they fit great, VERY comfy on my arch. ... show more

  • VERY comfortable.
Size: 10 Color: Brown
I am a professor and was looking for slightly rugged oxfords for everyday walking about campus. Over the past 20 years, I have owned several pairs of Timberland oxfords, but apparently that company has discontinued oxfords. I looked hard for a replacement and eventually found these Skechers. Frankly, they are better than the Timberlands. Less expensive, much lighter weight, more spacious toe box, and wear just as well. Most important: they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. From day one. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Well made shoes with accurate fit.
Size: 9 X-Wide Color: Brown
After trying several different make and model shoes I setyled on these Sketchers Riler Oxfords. The buildxquality was far superior to shoes I tried costing 3 times as much! Rivets in key stress areas and a tight quality stich tell me these shoes will last for a long time. They fit as promised too.

  • On my third pair...
Size: 11 Color: Brown
...of these guys. As someone with peripheral neuropathy, foot discomfort and pain are the usual, so there's not much more important to my daily dress routine than my shoes. There's nothing that focuses your mind on the feel and fit of your shoes quite like chronic foot pain, and for the last 8 years or so, these have been my shoes. Since they're not listed on Sketchers website anymore, I think the product is discontinued, and remaining stock is NOS. A real shame, because these are awesome shoes. I've been wearing these for daily work (office/business casual, and managerial-type jobsite stuff), and they've been lasting about 2-3 years or so per pair there, then another several years of wear if you don't necessarily care what they look like--2 years of average use will scuff up any pair of shoes. One of the best aspects of this shoe is its ability to work in all types of environments, and if you're okay with shoes that look a little worn, you can wear these things for a very long time. I still wear my original pair if I'm doing something I know will be messy, muddy, oily, or whatever. The existing footbed and insole are fantastic--I really like Sketchers Relaxed Fit line. While I now wear prescription orthotics soles in my shoes (including these), the Sketchers Relaxed Fit insoles are very nice, about like having a brand new pair of quality drugstore insoles installed. Walk as far as you want, your feet will be as comfortable as they can be. These insoles will eventually wear out, but they will probably last longer than the outsoles; keep buying drugstore insoles to stretch the service life, because there will be plenty of life left when those give up. The toe box is nice and wide; nice if you've got some bunions or some such, as there's room for your toes to do what they gotta do, and space for them to be there. The upper is nice and sturdy; while they don't protect your feet as well as boots, they do protect them better than most shoes, and certainly most shoes you'd consider for a business casual dress code. They probably feel a little more like boots than office shoes, which I guess is fine by me. The outsole is thick rubber, which is awesome, but somewhat soft--great for comfort, less so for wear. The soles will be the first thing on these to start showing wear, and honestly, the outsoles wear much more quickly than they should. But, don't let those wearing soles fool you; still plenty of life left in the shoes, even after the soles wear down past the lugs (meaning the soles are almost completely treadless). The softer rubber compound provides more traction than you'd think in an urban environment, and provide plenty of purchase even after you've worn off the treads of the soles. The treads themselves aren't all that good to begin with--pretty shallow, large blocky lugs, absence of sipes. Whatever--the characteristics that make the soles wear poorly are the same characteristics that make them useful after the tread is gone. If you live in an environment that has an actual winter, with ice/snow, then you'll need something else for that season. While the upper is waterproof, and these will keep your feet warm and dry, they're not much good for snow (shallow lugs if new, non-existent lugs if not). The other great thing about the outsole is its width--very stable shoe. Its really important that folks that can't feel their feet have a stable, supportive step, and this shoe provides that in spades. Workmanship and QC has been outstanding on the pairs I've bought. Never had a stripped or dissecting seam, broken eyelet (those are metal), or the dreaded "total glue failure," where the outsole starts to curl out a little bit, then starts coming apart from the upper, ultimately resulting in most of the upper becoming unattached to sole. You know, floppy shoe. Never happened with these guys, and its not like its a close call. Perhaps best overall is the ability to put these guys on in the morning, regardless of my workday (office, traveling, jobsite, or just hiking around farmground) and know I'll be comfortable and stable, even with my terrible, terrible feet. Just ask yourself, why else would someone buy three pair of shoes with a known issue of quickly-wearing outsoles? Because they're the most comfortable shoes I own, that's why. Recommended. Kinda. I'd like to keep buying these for myself as long as I can. ... show more
